Maybe a little, but that seems fairly accurate.

Reminds me more of Neon4Life's old spoiler....

It's definitely not a production SRT spoiler, the contours are all off. As for Neon4Life's, his was even more squared than this one is

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it looks different. I was starting to wonder if it was my eye LOL

Yep, that spoiler is different. Not only are the contours different, it is thinner as well.

You making one of those or just going to let the SRT production one suffice?

That is a really good question. When (and if) I do try this, I will see how much luck I will have trying to make the car as acurate as possible.

One thing I have noticed is the use of aftermarket parts that were more popular back in 2000. The wing looks a lot like the JSP Scorpion offering.

Nothing new to report. Fun huh?

I will say that mounting my new all season tires onto the SRT wheels is a complete PITA! The outer bead keeps getting hung on the step in the middle of the wheel. So far the only method that even remotly works is putting a ratchet strap around the center of the tire and spraying the bead with a great amount of silicone. I now have one tire mounted :banghead:

With a great amount of work on Juan's part, we now have a line on some of the pieces needed to make the 2.4 work in the ACR. These include an oil pan, engine mounting plate, alt and P/S brackets.

Now if we can just find that bag of money so I can get started on the engine work...

wouldnt the 2.4 mount at the same mounting points as the stock engine

by Danteneon
At the body, yes. But the 2.0 plate won't mount to the 2.4 block.

Thanks, I'm excited too. I see this engine sitting on the floor every day. I keep asking it when it will be finished and in my car. It just won't answer.

Oh, will do on the money score Jeff :D

What size tires you mounting on there?
You have a Corghi tire machine where you were doing it at? Or you are just using a regular basic type? I could see why it would be hard with a basic one. Damn 17x6 rims.

Thats going to be one badass motor you are going to have in there. Good that you are taking your time on it. :)

The tires are Toyo Versado in the stock SRT size (205/50/17). And yeah, we have an old school tire machine :banghead:

I hope that the engine project goes as well as I hope. This is the same project that Brad had so many problems with. I'm going to do my best to make sure I don't have the issuses that DCR had.

I hated mounting small sidewall tires....sucked bigtime. :(

Posted: Thu Jan 07, 2010 11:29 am
by Danteneon
That's the thing though, these sidewalls aren't all that short. If they were 40 or 45s I wouldn't even try it on this machine. I didn't have this much trouble mounting the SPTs on these wheels.

I don't even have the motivation to try ever night either. I walk by them and think "I really should try them again...eh." Maybe tonight.

Updates.

The tires are finally on! The trick was lots of silicone spray and 75-100 psi  So now they are ready to put on...next winter

In the meantime I have been getting random parts. I really need to stop getting weird crap

I now have a dark slate HVAC bezel. So much better than the faux CF weave that it came with!

Pic coming soon!

I also got a non-A/C bezel for if/when Chtear becomes a track car

Image

Along with the radio delete plate from BRR

Pic coming soon!

I now have a long tube header (thanks Adionik!) for the 2.4 SOHC build

Image

Today I got something I have wanted for a while...

Image

Call me silly, but I think it's cooler than hell! Can you picture me shopping all cool at the store with this bad boy? I plan to throw on some bigger wheels and...wait, what the hell is in the box? This isn't my shopping cart!

Image

Well poop. Eh, the magnum manifold is pretty cool too I guess. I wanted another one to use as a porting/modifcation mule rather than mess up the polished one I have now (thanks Srtjesse  ).

I have a pretty cool idea for the interior of the car in mind as well. I am going to start working on it as soon as I finish working on something for Ryan.

As always, stay tuned :D

Update time...kinda.

The project I have been working on for Ryan should be done soon (yay!). Then I can get the latest interior mod done for Chtear. No more details yet (yeah yeah, I'm a big tease) but I should be posting some pics shortly.

So what is the purpose of this post? Errr...ummm....update withdraw?
