Paint Prep Day 1:

Removed side skirts and tops, Vortex Generator and took all day cleaning and removing the goo left behind. I hoped to start sanding today but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Here are some pics.

i hope u are not painting over all that carbon..... i am not a huge carbon fiber fan, but that will look sick....

well, yes and no. Its going to be PXR(Dodge) now not AXR(Chrysler). After hearing that the only difference is a little bit more pearl/mica in the paint it wasnt worth the extra cash. You wont be able to tell plus im saving like $200 with the dodge color.

are those the ebay carbon fiber fenders i have my eye on some and want to know if the the weave looks good enough to leave alone or if they should be painted.

Oh man I can't wait to see it all nice and painted!

For anyone in / near Maryland looking for CF fenders, if you don't want to pay for shipping, I found this company.

I talked with the manager and they seemed like a good place to do business with. I asked if they offered any other CF parts for the SRT4. They said no, but that they could and would make anything for the car.

thats where i got my fenders from. they are fiberglass fenders with carbon over lay. i paid $429 and i picked them up. they are not perfect but i hope that once they are clear coated they will look better.

Stopped by the body shop today. Most of the body work is done and should see paint by then end of the week. As of right now they are not sure if they can fix the hood. I'll find out later this week.

the great thing about a black car and a cloudy day is that it hides all the dents and deep scratches in the paint when you take pics.

the main reason was due to the dent on the front passenger door.

the crack in the rear bumper.

and the front bumper had a lot of chips and scratches. so i decided to pay a little more and just get the whole car painted.

Hmmm that look kind of like the color Ive been looking to do mine. LOL. Looks great man.

As for that maryland CO. for carbon they are alright. Customer service isnt as great as it could be. As for price they are cheaper when they sell their products on ebay just to let you know but those website prices are ridiculous and you need to go down there and check your stuff when buying. DO NOT let them ship anything if you can help it. I went down to pick up a trunk and 2 out of the 3 I looked at were damaged and they didnt even know it. They were ready to just give it to me and send me on my way.

Srt wing is cheaper by Carbon by design until there is a sale on ebay. Just for an example.
