a photographer friend of mine actually drives one during the summer... his dad owns a business.
you'd have to know the guy to understand, but whole shit does it just add to HIS creep factor. he's a normal looking buy, but just knowing who he is, what he does, an ice cream truck just adds to it

LOL creepy factor. The ultimate increase in creepy factor would be an old 80s Dodge Van with no windows. I call them rape vans.....you see them in lifetime movies all the time LOL.
But seriously....OCD > me. Brodie actually wanted a can of the clear too, but it wont be here in time for him to get it. So everyone lost out cause I'm slow and handicapped ha ha.

I should be heading over to Amits tomorrow to get my headlights fixed. I COULD have done it myself, but I don't want to pay for the silicon to re-seal them when I paid Amit to paint them.
Matter of principle really.
And some bad news, I got an e-mail from Zooomer, the guy who was doing the GB for the full stainless-steel exhaust.
I was really excited to go pick it up tomorrow too. Fuck.

I'm probably just going to back out completely and get a re-fund of the $900 and pay off credit-card debt. It seems they have been having a LOT of problems with their exhaust lately... the paint from the headers burning off instantly, quite a few flex pipes braking, and now a problem with the 3" exhaust I haven't even heard about until today.Zooomer wrote:Glad you emailed. The stainless units are not ready. Catback problems are being investigated and relate to the resonators. We have over 100 out there and working so we're trying to isolate the issue and see why some people are having issues.

I got my full $900 refund this morning, so I went and bought the Megan racing cat-back exhaust and this nifty little box that SRT owners should know of.
The WOT Box.

A nifty little box that makes me able to do no-lift shifts and launch control. It JUST was released for the cobalt like a week ago, so I'll be one of the first to try it out. I'm excited.
and I STILL have alot of money left over to pay off some of that CC debt.

Final purchase from the refund, a set of Progress lowering springs.
For $183 shipped I couldn't pass the deal up. It should lower around 1.8" front, 2" back I believe.
So, instead of a $900 stainless steel header back exhaust, I bought a stainless cat-back exhaust, WOT box, and lowering springs, and STILL saved around $200.
I didn't get the headlights fixed, I was too busy yesterday, so it'll saved until another time.

I must be missing the point on the WOT box with a small turbo or most any blower the boost isnt going to fall too bad if at all between gears. Is it to prevent the driver from missing the gear? If that is the case shouldnt the driver be working on their skill (nothing aginst you just questioning the idea in general) Anyway enjoy your new parts sounds like you got a great deal.

If you are running 19psi spike 16psi hold on a stock SRT turbo in between shifts you are pressing your foot to the floor (no boost). The car then needs to spool back up (which doesn't take long but it does hurt 1/4 times) and whatnot before you have to shift again.
By holding a consistent boost number then you have a better 1/4 mile time.

^yeap
Now I personally don't race, or go to the track, or anything, but I do like to WOT shift. I just have never done it in this car because I don't want to risk effing up the transmission.
The 2 step launch is to help build up boost before you launch (essentially) and the WOT shift is to save your tranny when you decide to WOT shift through the gears. It also allows to keep your PSI nice and high the whole time.
Fun for me, a serious drag racers tool.

it is awesome i test drove the new ss/tc and it was just awesome how it worked you could feel a pretty decent difference going into gears at full boost although 1st to second became a traction issue and i could see it being worst for the sc guysOpi wrote:I got my full $900 refund this morning, so I went and bought the Megan racing cat-back exhaust and this nifty little box that SRT owners should know of.

The drop will HOPEFULLY be within the next week or too... The springs should be showing up here at any time, and then it's just a matter of driving down to my parents to do the install. It should be a LOT easier than on a neon, and I did that suspension 6 times, so I'm a pro at this.glasswars wrote:Wow you got a lot of goods for an awesome price! I can't not WAIT to see that drop.... and whenever you get that sweet lip spoiler..
The spoiler will be next year when I do more body work. I.e. get the rear bumper re-painted, a dent popped out, and then get the trunk re-done.
I got my WOT box in yesterday.

The box itself:

All the wires and good stuff:

I had to run out and buy this from Lowes so I could do it all right:

Install took me about an hour and a half because I want to do this 100% the right way. Before now, I had never used a solder gun, so it took awhile to get the hang of it. My joints look like shit, but they hold up and that's all that matters. I'm going to sit down on day and just practice, and go through my car solder all the stereo wires together and re-do this wiring.
I ran the wires kind of half assed in case I installed something wrong and had to go back and re-do something, as you can see here:

When it stops raining, I plan to go out, buy a lot of wire loom, and re-do everything so it look 100% stock.
Here's the box itself "installed":

Engine bay wiring:

It wont be at all hard to make look stock, I just ran out of day light last night. It was only about 6 wires to hook up, but they were all a pain in the ass considering I had to get my volt meter out and find out which wire was which. Some of the colors are exactly the same coming off the ECM.
But, install went smoothly. Everything worked right off the bat no problems. I have the 2 step set to 3,000RPMS, and when I laugh with 12 PSI of boost I just smoke the fucking tires.
The No-lift shit is fun as HELL though. It makes the car feel like a damn automatic when I go through the gears, and the girlfriends absolutely LOVES that part.
For anyone that would want this, contact NP Complete Performance. They're currently tossing this on more and more cars. All you need is a wiring diagram of the car, and it can be hooked up to any manuel transmission. Currently, it's on the SRT-4, cobalt, Mazda Speed 3, Nissan 350Z and Infinity G35. I love it, that's for sure.

Have fun with it.Opi wrote: Install took me about an hour and a half because I want to do this 100% the right way. Before now, I had never used a solder gun, so it took awhile to get the hang of it. In a previous life I did a lot of electronics work and soldering that went with it... I just hope you don't have cold solder joints.
In a nutshell the technique is to first heat the joint up without using any solder and then when hot enough applying the solder to the joint which should suck it right up.

So you just mash the gas and the clutch at the same time?? How does that work?

mash gas, hold it, push in cluch, shift, release clutch, repeat. you simply don't lift your foot off the gas. hence, no lift shift.
like i said, follow the SRTforums link. it's a lot easier than me explaining it, since i only half-ass understand how it works. i just know that it does
