I do WOT shifting in my car all the time. It's also called "speed shifting". All these videos are from Mustang guys, it's all I could find at the moment.

First, I'd practice sitting in the car just pushing the clutch and moving the shifter. Then practice it driving, but still letting off the gas. Then do it with the gas down.

How this WOT box works is that it cuts timing temporarily, but not fuel so it keeps the turbo spooling.

Big thanks to Amit for coming out and fixing my headlights for me. :) Sucks about the car though man.

Exhaust and lowering springs should be in this weekend, and I haven't heard any updates from Crystalmarie about my eyelids lately. *waits for her to chime in* :)

They are done. There is one small dry spot on the top of them (where that ridge that goes over the top of the headlight is). And a bit of inevitable dust. Overall I think they look kickass though. I need to find a box so I can fit them and the paint in there, and ship them back to you (tomorrow or Friday) via UPS w/tracking and insurance.

w00t :D

just PM me cost and i'll be sure to send out the money

On a more depressing note, still no springs or exhaust, and of course, no return e-mails from the companies. and for some reason the driver side headlight is STILL fogging... i get to take it off tonight to try and find a crack or something in the plastic

Why don't you drill a small hole in the bottom of the housing so that it can vent? I drilled three small holes in the bottom of mine. The kid I sent them to so they could be aimed/sealed REALLY screwed them up. Then again I'm lucky I even got them back.....the rest of the people weren't so lucky.

I'm gonna find a box for these puppies and send them out tomorrow or Friday. I need you to PM me your address though, I got rid of the box they came in because with the paint on the return shipment, it won't fit.

i'm always cautious to put holes in my headlights. they have no reason to fog up. they're just OEM headlights that have been resealed. i dryed them out and put them back on the car. i couldn't find any leaks or anything, so i'm not 100% sure what to do.

sending that PM now. :)

So, the whole ordeal with the springs is resolved. I guess there was an error on Fedex's end and they were sent back to THmotorsports.

I contacted them, said I need the package by Friday at the latest, so they overnighted the springs and here they are:

So Hoo-ray for THmotorsports!! These will be installed Saturday. Here's hoping my fucking exhaust shows up tomorrow.....

Yup, doing it myself. And no, the front suspension is the exact same as the neons. Take strut off, take springs off strut, put new springs on, replace strut. Easy. :D

The rear is different, and actually easier. Support rear sub-frame, drop it down slowly until pressure is released from springs, take out old springs, put in new ones, re-bolt. 10x easier than a neon and I did the suspension on my 6 times. This shouldn't take me anymore than an hour to do.

Just purchased a new head-unit. AVIC-D3 so go Here to buy my old headunit and help to alleviate the cost of this thing!

Was a good deal though... $510 shipped for the unit, ipod hookup, XM hookup, and bluetooth module. I'll sell off the XM and bluetooth, along with my old headunit, and hopefully come out to about $250 for this thing. :)

Its an addiction. Your eyelids are going out tomorrow via UPS. There was too many downed trees from the tornado yesterday for me to get around. :( So I ended up home most of the day.

1.) Edited post about the stereo. I was $100 off for some reason. I spent $573.52 not $673.52. :)

So, went down to my buddies house to install the springs. Let me say, the rear seriously took us about 20 minutes to do, and that included 10 minutes of trying to find the perfect jack point. I couldn't believe how simple it was... and because of it, the rest of the job took 3 hours.

We had no problem getting the front struts off. Just the usual pain in the ass that struts always are... But the top bolt is different on the cobalt than the neon. Instead of having to use two sockets, an extension, and a wrench to get it off, I was "supposed" to use a socket, a vice grip, an allen key, and a wrench. Well, after an hour and a half of trying it that way, we stripped the hole out where the allen wrench goes.... :( Shit.

During that time, we tried EVERYTHING we could think of... breaker bar, vice, impact gun (not enough PSI in the tank to matter though...) everything... and we ended up stripping the fucking thing.

so, we messed around for another half hour with various things, then i decided to head to the basement to hopefully find help on cobaltssnet. 15 minutes later after him and his step dad were fucking with it, they got the bolt off. Ended up having to vice to the strut to itself. (i did NOT like that idea.... hence why they did it while i wasn't around) and using the impact gun and wiggling it back and forth. Sure enough... it worked. I couldn't believe it.

Tried the other side the "right" way a few times... didn't work. Didn't strip it out this time either. We tried the vice on the strut... didn't work again. Half hour later, his step dad comes out, uses the impact gun and it pops off. Even after we tried it the same way... it took him to do it. Whatever

The car is lowered about 2" all around (give or take.) and i can't even tell honestly. It still rides like stock, just a SHIT ton stiffer. I can take my usual corners at about 10mph faster now. :D I LOVE these things!! and no scrapping -yet-

No pictures either... buddy has them on his camera and he's slow to get them off. There were around 50+ taken. When I get them, they will be posted up. Some are rather funny. :D

Gas milage: Toledo to buddies house - 32MPG
After racing, dropped to 22 mpg

Going from buddies house to ypsilanti after resetting computer after a fill up, peaked 37.6MPG  Averaged 32.7 MPG. Damn impressed for a car with 211hp :)

Oh, still no exhaust... I'm livid. Thankfully I have my eyelids and stereo coming next week to make me happy. :)

Had a nice and eventful day today.

-Wash and waxed the car
-Cleaned up the engine bay, made the wires from the WOT box look stock. Did the same under the dash
-Took a couple shitty pictures due to me forgetting the "good" camera at work :(

Nice stock looking wiring:

Only shot of lowering the car that was on my camera:

Go Here for the rest of the pictures.

Also, BOTH of the damn headlights are fogging up now.... So they'll be going back to Amit sometime this week to get fixed. I don't understand it... they SEEM sealed up everywhere. I'm sure he's just as annoyed with these damn things as I am.

Damn dude that sucks about the headlights... and BTW, did you notice there's someone sifting through the stuff in your trunk!? Better stop him, he may steal your dead puppy collection!

And that car looks dead on balls perfect now, I say keep those wheels, they're great, it's all great!

Love the drop. You eyelids....will be arriving on Wednesday of this week. The tracking number hasn't updated yet, but here it is:
UPS: 1z016x800350498441

Bastids caught me trying to ship the paint....so I couldn't send that along but the eyelids are en route.

The tracking # doesn't work, but no biggie. I have faith it'll be here. :) Sucks about the paint though, i had some plans for that too. Not a problem though, I live damn close to a GM dealer now so it wont be a hassle for me to run down and get some paint.

The whole exhaust fiasco should be put to an end soon. Even though I ordered it awhile ago, got an e-mail -that day- that it had been shipped, their shipping guy never sent it out because he was "unsure" of the address, because I sated (after it had been a week) that I was moving to a new apartment. I called them out on that, and they couldn't say shit about it. They just asked for a new address and said it'll be there in one or two days.

I said I want it over nighted, because that's what THmotorsports did for me, even though it wasn't their fault I didn't get the springs in a timely manor. So, supposedly the exhaust will be here tomorrow.

All of my stereo components should be here Wednesday, as well as the eyelids. It seems like I have a busy week ahead of me. I have no idea when it'll all be getting installed though, because I'm also moving into my new place Saturday. Today I get the keys. I'm awfully damn giddy :D
