ZeroChad's Log -- Parting out this weekend.
Just so you know, NHRA has a rule where if you have a cell mounted in the trunk, you need a firewall. So you might as well cut metal instead of fabric, and rivet that into place.
And don't worry about feeling retarded. We've all been there, or done something that dumb.

So many neons so little time.

Keep in mind that the more weight you take out of the front and put in the back, the worse your forward traction will be.

I hear ya. I was debating it for quite a while. The larger optima would have really messed with any intake setup in the future though. I really like where you relocated to on Grrrtrude, but I can't give up the washer bottle right now, I'm getting way to much shit on my windshield from the trees around here.
I'm really debating swapping to a T850 instead of finding a quaife for the T350. That'll give me a couple hundred more pounds on the front axle if I go through with it.
I was getting pretty anxious just to throw a turbo on and get her done for a while, but now I think I'm just going to take my time and make sure everything is done right. Fuel system and Tranny/LSD/Clutch first, then on to the turbo setup.

Parts are a comin. All paid for by random shit I've sold on ebay
12gl RCI fuel cell with fuel sending unit.
Autogear Fuel rail $75. Pretty great price. There's a guy closing em out on ebay right now.
Bosch 044
Pretty much just need to get a regulator and a filter (plus hoses/-AN fittings).

Ah, good to know. Yeah, I did some searching on SRT forums about it before I made my order. Pretty sure the end fittings are -6an too.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:I have that same fuel rail. I see you figured out you have to use the stock fuel injector pulse dampener for the center port. Keep us updated on how it goes.
Yeah AutoGear rails were made by the CNC guy that did the AEM rails back in the day.

Probably my post, I was the first one to get one. Just never got around to installing my fuel return line system.... $500+ worth of product, just sitting there.ZeroChad wrote:bahaha... I think he mentioned something about Harris Hill on Nov 4th?
Bah, bad luck this week. Just got my netbook running again. Hard drive crashed hard...messed up MBR, Partition table, NTFS boot record and MFI. I wasn't able to get it to boot again, but I was able to access the data after 4hr of work and get my Megasquirt tunes, files, and archives off. What a pain. Running ubuntu 10.4 netbook remix now.
Also, Sunday, I took her for a drive, and now the steering has a ton of play in it. I think my rack might be going out...I did a quick pick underneath and the LCA bushings seemed okay.

Steering play could be tie rod ends, don't rule them out.

Luis - So you have to take your car to a mechanic for inspection before hand? Sounds fun though.
Yeah, it could be a few things...honestly, I haven't bothered to look yet. Too many other irons in the fire right now. I'll probably poke around when I get to installing the new fuel system.
FPR came in today BTW. Now to place my summit order, and I'll be all set.

Well I got a good amounts done today.
I started off by jacking up the font end and checking out the steering. It looks like my tie rod ends have some play in them The left side is the worse. Is it worth going to Moogs for replacements?
After that, I poked around my engine bay some. I really need to find a new battery bracket mount. I did completely take out my PS pump/reservoir. The left side of the engine bay has a retarded amount of empty space now. I looked around a bit to see where I want to mount my FPR too.
Then it was on to the trunk. First I ripped off the dynomat I had on the lid. Kinda nasty. Then I removed the rest of the trunk carpet. I was amazed at the amount of dirt underneath it. I'm going to give it a good cleaning soon. Next I mounted the fuel cell to the spare tire well. I don't think I could have gotten any closer on the dimensions for the damn thing.
I still need to buy a better battery tray. That's the stock one. It kinda works, but looks lame and rattles some.
I mounted my fuel pump too. Bosch 044. Made a custom mount out of wood and hose clamps. It turned out a lot better than I was expecting. People charge >$20 for a similar mount lmao.
Dang, my cell camera does awful in broad daylight.
Next up is bending/flaring tubing and getting my lines up to the front.

Haha Chad. I was just about to say how much I like your fuel setup. But hey, you have a much longer thread than Grrtrude.
