Thanks man. EE or ME ? lol. I was A section. Man the whole thesis project was a bunch of crap. Finally finished it up.
Got a few updates I'll post pics of later. Went to muffler man and welded in 3 02 bungs and a high flow cat. She's running great now with no codes. Also got my Canton oil pan I bought from Sgt. Brad fixed up. Should be ready to go in with my next oil change.

78F w/ a slight breeze. Are you sure this is March? lol. Lovein it down here it's awesome.
Well, the neon made the trip down okay. It sucked not beeing able to see out my back window or be able to check my blind spots. Here's a couple pics from the trip.
Just Heading out. White balance is off. My hids are 5000k. Damn yellow halogens screwing w/ teh balance lol.

On teh roadz

Peace out Michigan. Hello Indiana.

Illionois turned out to be not so much fun to drive through. I swear this picture kept repeating for about 5 hours.

We stopped in Memphis for the night, then left the next day. Cool cityl

Finally in Austin. This is my GF new hotel to work at.

However, there are quite a few issues that have come to light in the trip. I'm pretty sure my oil pan gasket is leaking (excuse to throw on the canton pan), and I think I'm leaking tranny fluid too. I'm wondering if one of the bolts is loosening up when I drained it ~4 months ago. Shifting is getting pretty knotchy. I need to find somewhere I can work on my car. Also, my FDS coilover is making a springy/popping noise while I turn the wheel while not moving. It looks like one of the bolts for my swaybar bracket sheared off too? crazy. Lastly...The day I was leaving, one of my friends rear ended me. I wasn't really pissed about it b/c my exterior has kinda been going downhill fast. It scuffed up my bumper pretty good and cracked my license plate holder. BTW I'm not too excited about the whole front plate thing down here lol.
I did have some spare time to
around with some leds I have. These are some monster SMD leds. I'm not running them at full power b/c they'd need a heatsink to properly dissapate heat. As they are though, they're plenty bright. I'll throw up a night pic tonight.

In case you were wondering, I tapped into the orange illumination wire on the HVAC connector, and used the black/purple ground wire.
I did notice it was hard to get a pure uniform light distribution due to an uneven coating on the back of the light holes. It must be to make up for the lack of stock bulbs.

Hopefully, I'll have some more updates soon. I really need to fix those leaking fluids first.

Shot ya a txt man.
Yeah chad. Memphis looked really cool. Didn't get to see much more of Tennessee though. Arkansas was def a nice place. Pretty brown/grey this time of year though.
Oh, here's a pick of the crunch. It was my friends bday and he was driving our other friends truck and hit me at a light. He said that he didn't even realize the truck was moving. I felt bad for him though, it was his first at fault accident.

Well, I ordered Megasquirt II w/ v3.0 board. III popped up like two days later. Kinda sucks since I'd really like run sequential injection and COP. I can always upgrade later.
Everything came in last week.
I built my JimStim already and just started on the MS mainboard, but my soldering tip broke! I guess I do too much of that stuff lol. Ordered some more tips. Should be here Friday. I'm hoping to swap out to my Canton oil pan from SGT Brad this weekend too. Hopefully the new gasket will fix my oil leak.

Well I got my lazy butt moving today and decided to install my Canton Oil pan that i got from Sgt. Brad. I had fixed it up a while ago from his broken rod damage. The install went okay, but not as smooth as I hoped.
Starting off, my stock pan was leaking at the gasket, i probably had about 3qt of oil left it. The rear of the pan was just coated. So i took off that bugger.
The new internals are looking sweet still.

I realized, in order to get the pan in, i had to remove the AC mount bracket. This meant the AC compressor had to come off. Well I had taken the lines off a while ago, so this was more weight savings. The engine bay really cleared out down below. (PS is next!)

After the AC mount bracket was out, the pan went in pretty good. I had to hammer it out a little on the corner to get it to clear the AC bracket w/o grinding. (lost my cutting burr).

Notice that the front bung won't be usable due to that damn bracket again. i wish someone made custom brackets for A/C less setups.

Now I need to figure out how to loop my PS lines and take out the pump.

Just got my Megasquirt to communicate with TunerStudio! It was giving me some problems, and trouble shooting the connection was a pain. Changed one number in the firmware ini, and it picked up right away. Sweet!
Now i just have to build a few more extra outputs and MSExtra circuits. Here's what she looks like now.

Oh for sure. It'll be pretty close man. The car already feels tons better with some fresh oil. She was running pretty low n dirty. still good pressure though.
Just finished testing all the inputs tonight. Look to be working good! Now I just need to make sure the outputs are good. I should be able to finish her up by Sunday.
Adam: DO IT! Thanks man! Those pistons have by far been the best money I've ever spent on my car. (not even considering the old ones were fubar)
Oh, I got my Black w/ silver vein PC Bwoody solid mounts today. They're pretty sweet.

I'm swapping a fresh head in this following weak. Mild build, with an R/T cam and springs, Mag exhaust manifold, and of course all new gaskets. If it runs as strong as I hope, I might just save for some internals and let a REAL build begin. Props for some motivation!
I could always just drive halfway into a lake. Then I'd HAVE to do it

haha, good luck man. Its amazing the things you learn about your engine during a rebuild.
UPDATE
Bwoody motor mounts are on. These are powder coated "Black w/ Silver Vein". I'll get some better and close bay shots after I remove my power steering pump and clean some.

Installing the upper was cake, but the lower one needed some convincing to bet past the oil pan. I drove around today to get a pic for 2gn Survivor, and WOW! There's a good amount more of vibration and noise at, but the shifts are easier and the engine just feels solid now.
Megasquirt is looking good. I had some cold solder joints on the stim pots that were giving me some problems testing. All the inputs are looking good. I'll be testing the outputs and my msextra circuits tonight. Then she'll be ready for install. I'm considering getting components for sequential ignition and cam input before I install.

cool man i got massive motor mounts and i hate the vibration but i love the way it shifts smoother and the engine delivers more powah to the grownd

Update from last weekend.
I took some time and installed the PS rear parking brake today. I've been running w/o one since I never purchased the other parking brake cable when I did my swap. It went pretty well. The hardest part was getting the damn dust cap off.
This is what the parking brake assembly looks like. So much for my nice black painted backing plates.

For some reason, the brake cable was of a different length than the other side. I thought I had ordered the same AC Delco part. It'll probably stretch some more. I'll adjust them next week.

MS is looking good. Need to test the IAC output, and figure out why IGN2 stays solid sometimes. I had a few issues with my Jimstim so far, but nothing with the MS.

If you order the same part for both sides, then it's probably wrong. One side is different than the other. Unless you meant, you replaced what you had with the same thing. Also they are different between disc/drum brake cars.
