Anyway, decided to go to another local cruise tonight and it just so happens I saw a Stone White SRT pull in so I went over to check it out. There was an older guy sitting near it (older than Gramps!) and I wasn't sure if he was the owner and I was just looking it over. Thing looked pretty mint, but was missing the door caps... My brother walked over and said "quit drooling it's just a neon!" and the guy started laughing and we began to talk to him.

I asked him where the door caps were and he said they were in the trunk with new tape on them but he was too lazy to put them back on yet. He said the entire car had just been repainted. He opened the doors and showed me that it was disassembled and all the jambs were redone and everything. He said it had been vandalized so he put new white doors on it and had the car repainted. The paint job was flawless. Then I noticed the for sale sign on the dash...

He said it only had 20,000 original miles on it and it was completely stock. I asked him what he was selling it for and he told me he was trying to get 11k for it. That's not bad for a Stone White with low miles... My brother is considering possibly buying it. Which means, someone else would be buying it

The guy then told us he never drives the car and he's just looking to thin the herd. He also has an 02 Viper, a 71 hemi cuda

and other cudas...

I dunno what'd I'd do with another car cuz I ain't sellin my silver car and I'm not DDing it in the winter either. Having a mint SRT would be fun though!

current mood: fuck ATX...

went to go up the street this morning and it wouldn't stay in gear and was just revving so I took the parents car. When I got back I got it to shift checked the fluid the dipstick showed NONE. I put a quart in and it's still low. There's always fluid all over the bottom of the car. My dad said he'd see if one of the tranny guys that actually knows what they're doing will look at it and he told me to calm down... You get fucking tired of replacing transmissions in every car you own. I told him I'm dropping a mtx in it and he told me you'll get tired of shifting and when those break then no one will be able to fix it.......................... sure.

time for an SRT swappppppppp.

The exhaust doesn't sound that mean. Compared to the other camaro setups. Having 3 mufflers probably has something to do with that

Mine is starting to rattle on higher RPMs, so I'm debating what to put on next, and you, having an ATX can help me decide, haha.

How many miles? I'd also check the radiator for trans fluid. That's pretty much what mine did when my trans cooler decided to lube the trans with coolant.

What's funny is an MTX wont break. The clutch will. Do a PT cruiser clutch, and you wont have any issues unless you do a built motor. I've put my transmissions through LOTS of abuse. The only one that blew up was the stock one in my 98, because I did something really stupid. Besides all the 1 tire street burnouts, the 7600 RPM launch killed it.

I vote MTX swap.

Sean - I'd say either just stock R/T or Dynomax Super Turbo without spiral flows in your mid pipe.

car only has 57,000 on it... 7/70 expired 6/23/10 cool.

Adam/Jerry - my dad doesn't fix trannys, knows nothing about trannys and will say anything to make his argument the right one and to make you the asshole. I was trying not to rofl. If a mtx fails replace the clutch/pressure plate/tob/flex plate/whatever and move on... atx suck and sometimes still aren't right when you're done.

Well for now I dumped 2 quarts of ATF-4 in it and its at the bottom of the cross hatching for HOT

I knew it was leaking some, but fuck.

And Jerry, not that atx blowout because I just put the rad in in May because I put a hole in it. Although, the metal fitting leaks where the line connects at the bottom and I don't want to tighten it anymore because it was tight. For now I'll just drive it and watch the fluid level more carefully.

My dad said we could drop the pan and try to reseal it so it doesn't leak.... fuck that noise. it's comin out for an SRT swap soon anyway.

he cannot. it's minor, but crucial. but it was a steal because they're pretty hard to come by.
