So... tree sap sucks ass. I spent 45 minutes with Goo gone and other chemicals trying to get the shit off my hood and no dice.

Went to the local car wash/detail and those fuckers charged me 25 bucks and took 10 minutes to get rid of all of it.

Money well spent, IMHO. Car looks great. Before/after shots coming soon.

EDIT:

Even feels like they tossed a coat of wax over the hood too, so I won't have to worry about that right away.

It's custom.

And not something I care about enough to spend the money to replace right now.

Hell no. I don't blame ya. Mine had little torn spots like that and I just cut them off with a razorblade to make them look smoother. Didn't really change the fitment or anything that much.

Oh no, mine is really bad. It's like that because it's dryrotted. There are actually gaps without gasket around it.

I'm trying to make my car into a "haggard masterpiece" like your Neon, Adam.

You sir, are well on your way

Just quit giving a shit, like you've already begun, and then buy cheap knockoff parts, but don't give a shit about them once they are on, either.

Sounds awfully difficult...

Oh, do I also have to dump on coils? Cuz that shit is expensive.

Nah, not necessarily. Add your own though to it

It's pretty expensive like you said. At that point, you've got to start adding / replacing a bunch of other shit. It aint easy bein' haggard.

Now... will I have to randomly sell off everything thinking I'm going to buy another car? Or is that optional?

That's purely optional. What typically happens there is you realize your car isn't going to sell / you wont get another car, in which case you skip haggardness and re-invest in your ricer roots. Not the route I chose, but to each their own.

Special thanks to John (lownslow) for the insane hookup on new headlight gaskets, so those will be here soon.

I also noticed a nice chip in my drivers side door where the sidemoulding bubbles are. I'm assuming one of those bubbles burst and the paint around it chipped away.

So that kind of sucks, and I'll have to look into fixing that too.

Dude...I drove all that way to jizz on your car, and then you clean it off....cmon!

Nice clean up. Sap sucks hardcore. When my car was getting rebuild under a pine tree for 2 weeks I had a ton of it on there. Try claybarring it next time. I was blown away at how well it got it off after trying everything else.

No clue. The guy who was doing it was using some chemical mixure they make in house and didn't know what all was in it.

Actually, I didn't *have* to buy these. He was going to send them free of charge, but I threw money at him anyways. Kind of like a perv throws dollars at strippers.
