Well, I guess its time I start one of these, I met some of you at Carlisle and it made me realize I should probably post more on here instead of just going straight to the for sale forum or just reading through. I have some small projects coming up as well as some big ones this winter, I am going to try to make steady progress and keep this updated but we'll see how it goes!
Here is the car as it sits now:
Unfortunately I didn't document much of anything I have done so far, but whenever I think of it I will snap pictures of things done in the past and post them up here.
Today's project:
Like many of you i have been searching to find an emblem for my Chrysler grill with no luck, and I refuse to pay 60+ bucks for one at a stealership so I found this one at Carlisle and got it for 5 bucks. It is bigger than the one that is meant for the grill but I am going to see what I can do with it. Stay tuned

Yeah I like it a lot better with the emblem too, thanks for all the comments!
Future plans? I have a lot this year, first priority is finally finishing up the body, I have an R/T front and skirts that will be going on, and maybe a custom lip. Interior I have to finish the sun visors to match the head liner, I just ordered harness inserts for my seats, so shortly after that i will be putting in harnesses and a harness bar. As far as drivetrain is concerned, I am going to put a big turbo in (I am sooo sick of PTB) and cams and gears as well. I'm shooting for 400+ whp by next summer... Oh and I cant forget, I am going to put Air conditioning back in it. So thats the basic plans for the future, so stay tuned!

OMFG Those are awesome!!! What the hell is the part number on them? You can buy them from the dealer? How much were they? Cheaper than CBD??
LOL Interrogation!

Yeah i got mine from the dealer, paid full price, after tax they were like 116. Afaik dante, myself and Jimmy from S&P Development are the only ones that have them and Jimmy said there were only like 4 sets available when he ordered his. So anyway, I think they are cheaper than CBD and these snap together, you dont have to glue them which is a huge plus

State Inspection Problems
Posted: Fri Aug 15, 2008 3:32 pm
by Blivitt02
A guy from State of New York visited the garage I get my car inspected at the other day looking for me, they gave him my number and he called me today with a pile of questions. Here's a little back ground information, the srt computer obviously holds a SRT VIN number, the Physical VIN number on my car is for an 02 neon, so when you get your inspection (In NY) they first scan/enter your physical vin number, then they plug in the car, my car passed with flying colors but since the vin on the car and the vin in the computer dont match it apparently threw some red flags. This guy is worried that we tried to plug in a SRT, and pass it off as my 02 neon essentially. I explained to him the situation, and he understands but he has to verify everything, so now he is going to see my parents because he wants to see the totaled chassis that I took the engine out of, then he is going to give my car an inspection, then I have to go to the dealer to verify that my 02 vin cannot be programmed into the 04 SRT computer (It can't, I am 99.9% sure) and have a letter head signed stating that it is in fact one car, it is safe and legal, and the 02 vin cannot be programmed into this car. After the document is official, it will be held on record at the state and I have to send it in everytime I get my car inspected. Booyah
Aside from this I havent been making any progress aside from buying stuff for the car, I have been battling some overheating issues, and I had to do some body work on my girlfriends old car before we sell it (anyone want a 97 jetta?

) so I havent had a lot of time, but rest assured you will get progress again soon

Wow, that sucks! I guess NY is a lot tougher on VIN tracking than most states. Good luck on getting your letter "official"
