Well, she's on hold for now. She's partly disassembled, and I finally had some time to work on it, and then the motor popped in the DD. So Grrtrude's older sister, Judy is getting a 2.4. Hopefully I'll have that all done in the next couple days so I can get back to work on the car that I actually like to work on and isn't covered in rust.

Still seriously contemplating a 41TE however. If I do that, I'll be selling off the clutchnet non-mod clutch and gone-over OBX diff to hopefully pay for some of the torque converter and controller I would need. Thoughts? I know less power would get to the ground, but shift times with a monsterous turbo are a bigger deal than in an N/A setup.

turbo 2.4 or na?

Just an emergency throw-it-in n/a 2.4. If I boosted the thing, I would be afraid it would fall apart, and I think Grrtrude has enough boost for a fleet of neons.

His DD's 2.0 puked the other day with symptoms I've never heard of before. And instead of fixing the 2.0 he's doing a 2.4 N/A swap....

Wow, I haven't posted anything here in a long time. For good reason. Not much progress has been made. I think all that's changed is that I pulled the head and got the valves all done up pretty race style JDM yo. That and finally got the body parts on and the right colors.

Yup yup. Now I gotta yank the motor out yet again. Gotta fill the firewall, put the cage in, paint the block and possibly the trans. I may actually anodize the cylinder head one day too. While it's out, I'll put the cage in, and then I can throw it all back together and do the tedious wiring job that will make it track ready.

The blue timing belt came in today. I may have to put the motor together tomorrow night... It's a strange thing to have a blue timing belt going into that car. It will certainly look out of place.

How does everyone feel about side exit on Grrtrude? I may do it just for the weight savings.

I actually need to retain an exhaust. I don't have enough room for multiple wastegates so I need to keep a little bit of back pressure otherwise I lose all control of boost levels. I already had that problem last year and had to add a muffler.

Just don't do a rear exit!

Since you won't be using the passenger side anyways, just do a sidepipe down the rocker, like the old Vettes had.

Well as of now it just dumps right after the rear lateral links. I wasn't to shorten it up just to keep the weight down. Plus the farther back it is, the more harmful it is for traction.

I want to do that setup... I probably will but Bitts seems like an asshole thinking that's the most legit and CUSTOM thing ever.

I PMed him asking for any hints/tips he could give me before I dive into it and he refuses to answer anything about it.

Oh well.. I'll dive into it blind when I get some fundage.

^ It wasn't complicated, he just acted like it was mega custom. Round tip cut through the skirt, with a plate cut to fit the skirt corners right there. Riveted on and BAM you're good.

Erick doesn't has skirts though, does he?

Nope. He'd have to cut out the rocker to get that look. Or just hang it under the pinch weld, which would work just fine.

Exactly, doesn't seem like it's hard... but you know when doing anything theres something you wish you knew before you did it.

That's what I was trying to get out of him but he had to have that it's so custom I can't tell any info about it attitude.

:slap:

Shoot I can cut up my rear section and use the turn to turn towards the skirt, then go down to 2 3/4" piping to come out the skirt.
