Well, last night I got stuck in a lake on the tollway, so I'm pretty sure the DD's motor is toast. Looks like I'm gonna have to spend my time tearing that one down instead of getting the drag car ready.

I was actually briefly tossing around the idea of a vespa. Then I realized that I do have a little dignity left, even after driving a pink neon around for the last year.

OK, Judy's taken apart. Yep, the hydrolock bent and broke a rod. The piston took a little damage, but not much. The bore got a little marred at the bottom, but the rings don't travel that far anyway. The balance shaft assembly got stabbed by the flying rod shard, so that's getting removed.

Ordered new (and better) rods and pistons.

Yea, a little. I haven't decided if I'm actually going to make use of it, but either way, resale value of the motor goes up if it's already SRTified.

Yea, I saw that this morning too. It is a great deal but I'm more looking to be mobile than to have 2 quick cars. Quick for the second one only once priorities are taken care of.

ARP rod cap bolts arrived yesterday, pistons and rods arrive today. Judy (95) should be running by the end of the week if I'm lucky.

I'm deciding if Judy should be MS. It runs ok on the stock ECU, but I know I could make it run so much better on MS. That also opens up the opportunity for neat things later that I won't discuss as of now.

Dammit. When you're right, you're right. Guess I have to save up for an MS and wideband budget.

Yea, probably. But it's like a $1000 affair between a high end MS, wideband, and turbo. Anyone wanna donate an SRT turbo?

Psh, do it cheaper. Stock injectors, 4lbs on a turbo, and borrow grrtrude's wideband to get the tune down. Once that's done you shouldn't need it again!

I have 30s and 42s laying around I can stuff in it, so that's not really an issue. MS does something very similar to the stock ECU's fuel trims, and it works very well with a wideband, so I wouldn't want to do that without one. I'll probably just keep a pile going and when I find good deals on cheap stuff, it will go in the pile.

Current status:
I got Anita drunk and asked her if I could buy parts. I love being sinister and evil. So I got the go-ahead to get my wastegate. So once Jake's turbo gets here, it will also have my brand new BEP 45mm wastegate in the box. Once I have that, I can weld on the v-band flange for it and get the manifold and turbo back mounted up again.

Judy is running fine, but still very rich with the wrong injectors in it. I need to sack up and buy the MS for her.

Yes, he sawzall'd the rear deck out, and yes he chisled the asphalt shit out. Er, well actually I did about half of it. A chisel and a blowtorch (IIRC) make it pretty easy, probably took an hour or so, I think.
