Today I got my rear deck/package tray re-covered. It's a little lighter than the original material, but it matches the headliner material real good. I got rid of the child seat anchor covers because the flaps kept popping off and it was real irritating. Here's a few cell phone pictures, since I forgot my camera:
Getting rid of the child seat anchor flaps

Stapled a piece of high-density carboard behind the holes

Added some scrap carpet so the new carpet wouldn't sink into the hole where the covers used to be

Finished product (again, sorry for the crappy cell pics)

Tomorrow I have work off, but I'm still going in so I can put my interior back together. I need to get a clip for one of the C-pillars since I broke one taking the pillar out, but for now it should hold okay without one less clip. Then I can install my rear seat, which I've been missing dearly!

Thanks! The carpet I used was from Pyramid Trim. It's the AM27 Dark Graphite on this page: http://www.pyramidtrim.com/multipilecarpet.html
My boss had a roll sitting up in a shelf and said instead of him ordering the closer color (which I would have to order a minimum of 10 yards), I could have the roll he had that was close enough for free! LoL

I am talking about looks alone. I bet it performs great due to its height.
Are you trying to say the shifters are too big and bulky?
Not all shifters have to be short to have a short throw.People who have driven my car with my HURST setup love it because of the positioning of the knob...

Sorry, after I cut out what I needed, there's not enough to do another.
I'm about to leave for work so I can put my interior back in the car (C-pillars, rear package tray, rear seat) and detail it. I will take lots of pictures to show you the whole thing completed.

The interior is now complete! I'm just detailing it right now, since it's a half-ass temp outside...it's been real cold lately, so I haven't washed her in about 3 weeks to a month! Poor Naiya...I'll have pics up of the interior and such. I'm doing a photoshoot for a friend of mine. She has a 2003 VW Golf GTI 20th Anniv. Edition that she did a custom paint theme to it. Some like it, some don't...I do (I helped her a little, too). Those pics will be up in the "pictures" section tonight/tomorrow morning.

Yeah, yeah...here's your PRECIOUS pics

I still have to order 3 of those clips that hold the back of the headliner in. I bought a few clips from Advance Auto Parts, hoping they would work...they did not. In essence, I must go to the dealer and order them.

Im gonna try and take some more and better interior pictures...it's really hard to take them because you have to have the perfect lighting, and the perfect time of day...the best is when it's overcast, but meh...

I would say I like it, but I guess you already know that since I did the same exact thing last month. The pillars in fabric still look weird to me....can't grasp that yet. Maybe a further back, wide angle shot, from the front door of the car facing backwards (on an angle) so the whole theme of the interior could be grasped at once.

Well I wasn't, but I flew my friend's R/C helicopter for a short time earlier this year, and it was a blast...so I figured I'd get one, since I haven't much of a life.TheRandom1 wrote:Youre an RC guy too?
Yes my darling, I will take pictures for you tomorrow. It's too dark to do it tonight, and using the flash will just distort the colors so it wouldn't look correct. I show you...tomorrowLilSparkPlug wrote:Maybe a further back, wide angle shot, from the front door of the car facing backwards (on an angle) so the whole theme of the interior could be grasped at once.

Thanks a lot! The Hurst shifter rod was $150 alone, then I had to have it sent to Chuck at Maddog STS so he could adapt it to his shifter and the shifter was around $110 or so...it wasn't a cheap mod, but it is an effective mod and was well worth the money IMO.Mopar65 wrote:AAR NEON = PURE SEX!!! That is some amazing work man! How much was it to do the pistol grip shifter and all that if I can ask?
Thanks Jake, it does flow with my interior and it feels and looks great!jake_tim wrote:Interior is looking great, Brodie. The shifter seems to flow with the theme so well.
Amazing work.
Thanks!sullivan wrote:car is simply stunning. neons should come with that interior package stock!
Well Crystalmarie gave me an update on my valve cover, since she went to the place to drop off her lower motor mount, and the guy said that he's tried a few times and keeps outgassing and making little bubbles, so said he's gonna keep at it until he completely outgasses the cover. Thats good news, but I feel bad for how much powder he's going through...

Correction, its sand not bubbles. Its sand from when the cover was sanded down. It was ground into the metal and when the valve cover is baked it comes out of the metal's "pores".supertrick_05 wrote: Well Crystalmarie gave me an update on my valve cover, since she went to the place to drop off her lower motor mount, and the guy said that he's tried a few times and keeps outgassing and making little bubbles, so said he's gonna keep at it until he completely outgasses the cover.
