(But okay: WGA = big letter and headlight lenses = packet. Packet takes much longer...)

Update: 1/31/2010: Flat Tire

Post by dbesade » Sun Jan 31, 2010 6:44 pm

Okay I can't get a freakin break here. So I go outside yesterday and my tire is flat. I put air in it and today it was flat again. I was going to get a pair of new tires anyway soon and bring the backs up front and new on the rear. Well thats not going to happen now as my driver rear tire has a gash in it.

Well the good news is my buddy has a set of SRT Wheels with good tires and is going to give them to me for a good price. Whats the going price for SRT Wheels as I don't need 2 Sets.

About $200 with tires. Give or take 50 dollars on condition/curb rash. Did you get your Stage 2 installed?

Thanks. Well I have been Stage 2 w/Toys for a while now, I was using my AGP Wastegate but have since decided to go with the Stage 2 WGA.

Update 2/01/2010 - Tires Replaced & boxes!

Post by dbesade » Mon Feb 01, 2010 12:41 pm

Update:

Okay so I got a complete set of SRT Wheels with tires. The fronts were a little worn but better than what I had on there and the rears were great. They are 225/45R17's. A bit wide for a 6" wheel but $100 bucks is $100 Bucks. Bad was that 2 of the new wheels had some bad curb rash. So I swapped out the rears and took the fronts to Tire Kingdom to have the newer tires put on my old wheels without curb rash. $35 bucks later I was in business.

Now I did notice a slight pull to the driver side but I think thats due to uneven wear on the front tires. I'll live with it for now and simply get a new pair of tires for the rear and move the rears to the front. These tires will due fine for now due to cost concerns. Anyone want a full set of SRT Wheels with Centercaps? 2 with okay tires and 2 without??

Now the incredible thing. I ordered my Timing Belt tensioner and idler pully on Friday directly from Mopar ... Get this ... I got them today and thats incredible. Still working the deal for the clutch. Will keep everyone posted.

Other than the tire situation sounds like things are moving along nicely.

Haha. Seriously I'm impressed with the shipping speed. As far as everything else as long as nothing else goes wrong I am on track to get most of the maintenance done on the car and possibly ... MAYBE ... get some new toys if everything goes right. Here's hoping.

Update 2/4/2010 - Boxes

Post by dbesade » Thu Feb 04, 2010 9:15 pm

Update 2/4/2010 - Boxes

Well hello again. This week I have gathered a good collection of boxes:

Image

* 2 ball Joints
* Mopar Idler Pully
* Mopar Timing Belt Tensioner
* Energy Suspension Kit

Add to that (I already had these):
* Autozone Water Pump (Metal Impeller)
* Gatorback Timing Belt

Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to purchase my clutch, pivot fork, and ball. I'll keep ya posted. When I do the Suspension bushings, I am going to keep an eye out on the area on the oil pan to see if I should order an oil pump too while I have the timing belt stuff off.

You know you own an srt4 when you downshift when cops are behind you.

I got pulled over and told my exhaust was too loud ... just as a large diesel pickup truck with smoke stacks roars by. Needless to say he gave me a ticket for no proof of insurance. Wouldn't accept my Gieco iPhone App's ID Card Function as proof as it can be faked. Like a piece of paper is harder to fake than an iPhone app. :roll:

Update 3/16/2010 - Whole Lotta Parts

Post by dbesade » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:04 pm

Hey Everyone,

I know I have mysteriously been quiet lately. I have been completing all my parts orders and now, today, even though I am feeling under the weather, completed all my parts orders. I now have the full sum of the parts to do my Clutch and Timing Belt Changes plus some extras. Here is what I got:

The Master List
Timing Belt
-Goodyear Gatorback timing belt (Ordered from Autozone)
-Mopar OEM Waterpump (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Waterpump Seal (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Waterpump Bolts (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Idler Pully (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Tensioner Pully (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Oil Pump w/Main Seal and Inlet Seal (Ordered from Modern Performance)
-Mopar OEM Oil Pump Pickup Tube Seal (Ordered from Modern Performance)
-Mopar OEM Cam Seals (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)

Clutch
-ACT HDSS-DN4 Clutchkit w/Flywheel (Ordered from Revolution Motorsports)
-Mopar OEM Flywheel to Crank bolts (Ordered from Mopar E-Store)
-Mopar OEM Clutch Slave Cylinder (Ordered from Modern Performance)
-Mopar OEM Clutch Fork (Ordered from Modern Performance)
-MPx Clutch Pedal Pivot Arm & Bushing (Ordered from Modern Performance)
-Mopar OEM Pivot Clip (Ordered from Modern Performance)

Suspension
-Energy Suspension Master Kit (Ordered from EnergySuspensionParts.com)

Turbo Parts
-Mopar OEM Stage 2 Wastegate (Ordered Used from 2gn User)
-Mopar OEM Turbofold Instaleld (Replaced Under Warranty)

Now thats my parts list that I have on-hand. The Turbofold obviously was already replaced/installed by the Dealer here but I tossed it on the list anyway. Is there anything I am missing? Danteneon? LSP?. I have to Call RockAuto, they sent me the wrong ball joints and 1 bag was opened. I'm not pleased with that but we'll see how it goes. I'm aiming to have the clutch done this weekend.

While your in there you might as well replace the rear main crank seal for good measure. Doesn't make sense a couple thousand miles down the road to have to take all that crap out again to replace a seal when you could do it all in one fell swoop.

I am on OEM bolts still, and its been fine.... *knock on wood*
Same clutch setup.

You got a ton of work ahead of you man, but looks like you got all the parts and then some for the timing belt job.

God Yes. 2 Wheels have okayish 205/17/50 and 2 Wheels no tires. Make an Offer. Some Curb Rash but are perfect for painting.

Measy, Doyle, Its $30 worth of bolts, I didn't wanna take a chance. I got almost 90k miles on the stock setup. Didn't wanna take the chance that the bolts stretched, etc. Piece of mind ya know.

I know its a lot of parts, but I wanna do everything while I'm in there and anything that may be close to wearing out. I guess this is also kinda a 90k Maintainence Time too. I am also in the process of getting my spare head worked on.

I keep mine in my car. No reason for it to ever leave. In Ohio you have 24 hours to provide proof if you didn't have it on you, without consequence. So even if you forget, you're still not screwed.

That link I posted tells yah to use regular neon bolts... Not OEM SRT-4 ones which are set up for a modular set up.

Yeah,

I'm going to take the word of the ACT Engineer that helped design that flexplate over 1 person who couldn't read instructions in the ACT Box. I met one of the ACT Engineers at the Performance Racing Industry Show here in Florida and he said that as long as you use NEW OEM SRT bolts it should be fine. Also the new flywheels have a center relief machined in. Should be fine :-)

I appreciate the concern though, its why I love this place so much. :rockon:

Edit: I guess I should clarify, Your not the person who couldn't read, its the guy on SRTforuns. I know you can read your car is pretty :-)
