Just a clear shot sideways without wing in the back and new wheels, think it looks good aside from being dirty..

Thaks for the comment 04.

Just went to my mechanics, little progress again, took ac out, installed new lightweight pulley, bracket for the tb cai, bought some 16 inches wheels with chrome caps, wich are back order. Also got A nice PT front piece for my cluster...

Getting the car ready for drag day on sunday, 10$ unlimited passes on the 1/4 mile

That PT front piece doesn't just bolt in on our cars, does it?

Posted: Thu May 28, 2009 8:43 am
by tominator
The pt piece is not bolt on but really not that far from fitting, just a litte cutting is needed!

Thanks for the comment

Thanks for the comments guys

Canada yes the wheels are for sale, pm me I'll get back to you if your interested

Superdan Any Pt cruiser has that kind of cluster face, I paid 50$ canadian for it at the junk yard.

Brodie I used regular cheapo spacers I think there about 1/4 inche I"ll check ont them tomorow to get you a picture

Srtjesse Going to the track on sunday, will at least post some 1/4 mile timing slips to see if I can make it into the 14 seconds range.

so its just an over lay from a pt? and i can find it in the states?

Yeah I had to buy the whole cluster to get the front part but it's the same model you got in the states, just have to watch for the good color you want.

Me I stumble across this silver/gray one the first pt I found at the scrapyard.. good luck in finding one won't be to hard I guess.

Went to the dragstrip this week-end, cold as hell and major vacuum leak gave me after 11 runs, only an 16,2 at 86 mph. Going to fix that with hard piping so can be back on track next week-end. Hoping to reach high 14s.

Painted the steelies and added a little red\orange inside lip to give it a mean retro look. Next up on the project list, redo my wingless trunk and paint srt 4 hood.

Pics of the car with painted steelies.

Vacuum leak? That sux!

No offence but I still doubt youll hit 14s!

Im loving the steelies though...

if you fix your vac leak im guessing you will be good for about mid to high 15's not trying to be a dick or burst your bubble but thats what a buddy of mine runs with almost the same mods you got car looks good tho good luck with the build starting to look really nice

Aim for 15s first! :D

Why did you take the a/c out?

Posted: Wed Jun 03, 2009 8:49 pm
by tominator
Sadly not only had a vacuum leak but a toasted plug wire wich was causing misfire. Can't wait to get back at the track!

Took lots of weight out with the ac, car feels much better and stronger without it.

I wish someone would please run at the track...goto the pit and remove the a/c and run again.

I promise you the gains are VERY VERY small. Not at all worth making your Neon uncomfortable on hot days.

It's not like it's a drag car and needs all the weight reduction you can get.

Made a big power difference for me, and mostly gonna use my car on week ends for drag racing, wich I love. Trying to make the best times i can with ngc computer.

Installed srt seats, front and rear, srt exhaust line with twin 21 inches spiral flow resonators/mufflers. Love the sound. Had pipes cut down to fit rt bumper.

Exhaust looks great. I have never seen that PT dash piece used. Do you have any pictures of someone else's cluster that did it? This is interesting to me.

Thanks for the comments girl and guys.

I'll shoot some photos so you can see how it fits Crystalmarie. I tough it would be a bit easier but still. Shoot some pics of the cluster and how it s made today to give you an idea.

Thanks Tommy

i'm definitely interested in seeing pics of the cluster as well. a nice oem mod, hopefully the install is clean.

by tominator
No no no, this is a definite no! The cluster wont even come close to fit, will need to swap lots of dash parts to make it fit, since I didn't have a pt at hand.... well this is a hell of a job, I recommend that if you even intend on doing this swap, have a pt interior close to you!

So you are no longer doing this?

Not now I will try to find a complete dash assembly first, maybe next week end....
