Do the pins in the plug and the cluster match? Could it be possible that one pin on the plug may be different from a pin on the cluster?

they seem to match from everything ove read.... im bewildered!

I'd go gloss black over satin. And the cluster may just be bad in general.

I'd check the pins and make sure its pushed all the way back. An easier solution would have been to buy speedhut overlays

How much did you pay for your cluster? I have the same kind, but with MPH as the main numbers and it only has.. around 25,000 miles (can't remember for sure, but that's what it has at most). I bought krc21's gauge cluster with the overlays, so my stock one is in a drawer.

LOL Brodie, I just think with his color and rim combination black would look better than satin.

I just don't like gloss black hood/trunk on ANYTHING but a black car, which is why I wouldn't ever get a carbon hood/trunk...unless I re-cleared it with a flat clear.
I say leave the hood/trunk the stock color.

i agree just repaint it the original color

ok well i figure out the cluster which i payed 25 bucks for.... the needle was just stitting on the wring side of the pin.... ne ways stock color is not an option sooooo its either satin or gloss choose one

I say gloss, only because I don't like the way it looks in your sig with the flat. My honest opinion...if you are keeping those wheels (and you should because they look sexy)...go with a bit of gold pearl in both the black, and the stock color. Re-clear the stock color with a couple of coats of gold pearl, and add it to the black to tie the wheels in.
Keep everything under the hood painted gloss black, gold and the factory color....
Sex.

MTX FTMFW!!

and I'm not much for Ford Trucks.. wouldn't get a truck, in general, but if I did it would be a Ram of some sort.
Can't wait to see the new paint scheme on the car

So you ARE going to be going to a 5-speed after all ??!
That is AWESOME.
You may as well take the ATX failure as an OPPORTUNITY..... and Upgrade.
While you are in there, I would change the Rear Main Seal, too, if you haven't done so already.
You will Not regret the Upgrade.

How many miles were on the car? To put things into perspective, i got a new clutch in my car at 26K miles. At 83K it started slipping on me. I'd just get a PT cruiser clutch while you're at it. Sure, it's $250, but you know for a fact that it's good and it's not going to break on you, or start slipping a few thousand miles after you put it in.

the thing is... im kinda short on cash (layed off)

and thanks... its nice to see someone likes my car as much as i do, all i get around my town is "why would you waste money on a neon" meanwhile there driving mommy n daddy's car. but o well all i need is 2gn! lol

We "waste" money on our neons because we love them

Just as much as people might love another car. The clutch doesn't look too bad to me, but what's the mileage?

in the 30 000 range. car was granny driven, and i know that for a fact
