What all was done to the motor? (and what was wrong with it before repairs?)

I would check to be sure they installed the rocker arm shafts correctly. The rocker shafts provide oil to the valvetrain and incorrectly installing them will not get oil to the lash adjsuters AND the intake rocker arm shaft provides the #1, #2, #3 and #4 camshaft journals with oil. This is a pretty common mistake with mechanics that don't know what they're doing.

Although it does sound like it could be somithing in the bottom end rotating assembly. :?

sounds like the crank or the bearings...hopefully its not too late or you will be looking for another new engine

^^what happened to mine, replaced the bearings first and it didnt solve the problem so now its getting a new engine

Such a nice day out. Doing things around the house then giving the ACR a much needed bath and maybe the SRT4 too.

So I just pulled up the carpet in my backseat and found puddles of water. Also there seems to be a lot more condensation than usual after the car sits for a while. I also found a lot of condensation on the underneath side of my trunk. I have not yet been able to find the reason why. Any insight guys??

Taillight seals for trunk. And puddles under the carpet in backseats. No clue lol.

All part of the taillight seal problem. it's a direct flow from the trunk to the backseat, so as it pools up in the trunk, some seeps into the backseat area. Fix the seals, the problem goes away.

Jeff. Give me a pic of these seals so i know exactly where im looking. everything looks tight to me.

Also my trunk carpet and everything in it are completely dry. It was my bottom backseat and carpet that were soaked. When i pulled up my seat there was small puddles. And again under the carpet there were small amounts of water as well.

They're the seals that are in between the taillight and the body. They might 'look' good, but most of the time they aren't. If you pull back the carpet to reveal where the taillight mounts into the body - pour some water in the gutter rail between the trunk and the fender. You should notice water pouring into the trunk through the taillight mounting holes. You can just silicone them up if you don't plan on taking them out ever again, or just buy new gaskets.

The gaskets really only last a year and then they need to be replaced. I replace mine yearly in the SRT for this reason. It's a very very poor design.

Rub the trunk lid seal with saddle soap. Get new taillight gaskets and rub them with permatex #2 non hardening sealent your water problem will go away. Miley is on year 3 of the same gaskets after receving this treatment with no leaks

Yesterday, in what light I had left. I pulled out my backseat, lifted up my trunk and backseat carpets. I took out my stock lights and put back in my euro tails (i dislike but i can deal with) their gaskets were in better shape than my stocks. I discovered about a half inch of water in my spare tire area. I dried everything up and I hope everything is solved. I can deal with the tails. Meh.

So it looks like my water leak is fixed now. You guys were right. Seemed to be the taillight gaskets. I put back on my chrome tails. I can settle with them since its my dd. I'm nervous to how the car will be like in the winter being lowered now. Plus financially I am low on money and in big need of some winter tires. I also need to do a smoke test to figure out this horrible sound my car is making.

guess ill throw a lil update on this. i gotta do some catching up. I'm driving the ACR everyday now. It still has a little bit of an exhaust smell. I checked underneath and i see no holes so it has to be something closer to the engine. The SRT is in a buddy's garage for the winter. =) I'll get updated pics when i can. There is also about 7 inches of snow outside now too. UGH it sucks

Wow seven inches? We have limited amounts left after the last storm, at least the SRT can sleep though :)
