it could also be a possibility that with the hit that last tire took that something else got messed up. like you said, its pulling a little. well maybe the balance is off and maybe your alignment is way off..or who knows

just get to checking it. wont know till you check it.

If it happened immediately after the pothole, I'd agree that it could be suspension. But since it was fine for a few days afterwards, and only started with new tires, that makes no sense.

Hitting hard bumps/potholes will usually knock a car out of alignment. Worse Case scenario it could've bent the lca

ok i dont think you can hit a pot hole hard enough to bend the LCA.

im just saying that it would take a pretty hard hit to bend the LCA. that is all. not saying its not possible. it would just take a really hard hittt.

Oh. Weird. To think I was driving one of those things.

Syn, if it was doing it before you put these tires on, potthole knocked it out of alignment. If it did it before you hit the hole, it was already out and is probably out more now.

Go to a good alignment shop. If they are any good they will be able to tell you if it will make alightment. If LCA is bent it will not make alignment, and they will be able to tell you why.

Ummm... Sounds like you're saying you cannot do it in the first post.

Thank you Captain Tardo, that will be all from you tonight.

Alignment issues don't usually cause wheel shake. That's either warped rotors or a balancing issue. Alignment can cause pulling. You could hit a curb the wrong way and bend an LCA.....they aren't invincible.

Actually, depending on when the shake comes on, it could be the bearing going bad too, and be entirely coincidental. At least I think that'll also do it.

This is why I said alignment.

Bearing would have to be horrible to notice shake. When my car was totaled and we got it back together it bent the lca pretty bad. never thought to replace wheel bearing. It didn't vibrate or anything, but it howled so loud it wasn't funny.

Neonslg09: yeah man coilovers would be cool, it all depends in a few days im meeting up with a member on here who has coilovers on his ride, and i want to see if it really is that much of a difference.

2/25/10:

Little update today:

Harness for the secondaries was built and is tapped up and ready to go.

Replaced my stock spark plugs for some Iridium plugs gapped to .040. To mine and eric surprise the stockers were gapped at .058 almost .060 .

Things still left to do before tuning.
-Air temp sensor and Coolant temp sensor fitting/replacement.
-replace plug on the wideband.
-Clamp the MAP
-Pray for no snow, since I curse IL with snow everytime i go over to work on the car at erics

Thanks for tuning in.

Tomorrow is the big day, the cars finally going to be tuned to 20+psi.

Went out to the junkyard and got the necessary sensors, just regular gm sensor with pigtails that are going to be fitted.

Coolant temp sensor

Air temp sensor

(sorry for the crappy pics, laziness forced me to use the comp cam.)

Also it is extremely convenient that there is a hydraulic repair shop 2 minutes away from me, so finding fitting for my neon is easy. Like so:
Image

Okay I need some opinions, Besides my wheels and window tint my exterior will stay stock and yellow. But since I am doing alot of work under the hood I was thinking of getting some powder coating done in the future.

Heres my photochop of what i kind of want.
Image

Details of chop:
-Digital/artic camo valve cover (red lettering) and Intake Manifold.
-Black/Dark Grey CAI
-After market Solid MM black
-Custom Screen name in a military dogtag font with red lettering.
- Paint all yellow fuild coverings to light gray and red dipstick handle

All in all i want to to mimic the monster assault can.
Reference
Image

I know it would flow so much better in an other color besides yellow, but hey i think it would be Badass.

So what do you think, i would like to here some opinions. I might get a video tomorrow of the tuning session.

Thanks for tuning in

I think the cammo would look horrible personally.

I do like the black CAI though.

The whole thing with the camo in the chop is i couldnt get it pixly(sp) like the monster can i kind of was more of a old school green camo turned grey, white, and black.

It will definately be different if done.

I was using my imagination to compare it closer to the can, and I still think that way. Plus, now that I think about it more, the red letters with yellow in the picture as well makes me think of McDonalds. May want to be careful with the color scheme!

Hmm. true there is white in the lettering on the name monster. So white could be a possiblity, and like i said i know some of the colors will be kind of wacky (ie yellow and blue= butterfinger or yellow and red= mcdonalds).

Thanks for the .02 cents ill take it into consideration of some of the colors.

2/6/10
Got the wheels balanced the other day, and it took away the shake at 30mph in the steering wheel, i thought.

Today i drove to Orland Park for a car meet, and at 70mph my wheel was shaking so bad, my arms are numb.

So back to the issue, since i got the tires balanced, would the next issue be an alignment.

Thanks in advanced for the help.
