there should be a g coat you can spray first. im not sure off hand what g coat you need for yellow but i i would imagine a g4 or something light would work best.

what brand of paint are you spraying?? is it water borne or solvent?

Yeah it calls for a yellow sealer but I didnt think that the base would be so transparent so I went gray for the hell of it. We were going to go black as I hear it gives a different effect to the paint. If I had I would probably still be spraying coats today to try and get full coverage!

Im spraying Sikkens Autowave WB. I much prefer PPG Envirobase HP which is what I used to spray. With PPG this paint code is a Tricoat, not with Sikkens hence the yellow sealer.

Paint looks great, too bad about that situation. Looking forward to the new result.

Re sprayed the car tonight, along with the bumpers, handles, skirts and the 4 little bumper pieces. SOOOOOOO glad I re did it! Looks so much better right now but I guess the true test will be in the sun tomorrow when its all back together.

I still have to spray the spoiler and the lips but I will do that first thing in the morning and use fast clear so it dries while i put the rest of the car together. Should have some pics tomorrow or sunday

Here she is... not the best pics (taken on my BB) but you get the hint. Hopefully we will have some sun up here soon and you can really see what the paint looks like. Its very close to factory but with a piss load of pearl!

Ill have to take some pics in the sun... looks so much like the factory color in those pics! I think I would have to park beside another one for the comparison to really show. Ill have to hunt down the other solar yellow one in town I guess... or I should say, the only solar yellow one in town

Oh I'm sure it's awesome in the sun, doesn't look factory to me in those pictures, its a bit of a different shade. How do the jams look compared to the body?

they would have been find if I hadn't used gray sealer the first time I painted the car. It crept in a bit far and doesn't look good. I think I might end up doing something with the jambs yet. Probably scuff them down and hit them with a small touch up gun to at least blend the color in. I wont touch the doors though. If I hadn't gotten the gray in the first time I think it would have been alright. I wish I had somewhere on it to really compare

A few in the sun! It was sunny for a bit this morning so I washed her up and got a few quick pics in the sun on our way to Hazelton. I cant seem to get any good pictures of it but in these you can see the flop in the paint from the pearl a bit better. It was super bright and I was using a shitty camera but I think ya'll get the point

Gf had the car yesterday and was parked way out in a parking lot with no one around. Came out 10 min later to this

Image

Left a small ding on rear door. More of a scuff than anything and Ill polish it out. Its actually really hard to see but a piss off none the less. Lasted 4 days since I pulled it out of the booth. Left a little note on their windshield for them :thefinger:

also ordered these today

17x7 with +42 offset

and 4 cheap 205/40's

I hate when assfucks do that shit...

Image

Left a nice ding and paint scrape on my fender. Called the company, emailed them pics about how their asshole messed up the paint, and was laughed at. To this day I dislike that company.

So I have been trying to do some research about the tires I ordered and cant seem to find much info on them. Im buying them cause they are cheap for one, and second to see what they are actually like. I havent had a set of "performance" tires on the car for years and when I did they were the factory RS-A's, if you consider that a performance tire. Here's whats coming with the rims

Anyone have these before?

Im getting them for $68/tire so I couldn't really say no lol

Can't say I've ever heard of them but they have a good treadwear rating.

I felt comfortable paying what I did for them even if they aren't the greatest tire around.
