03sxr/t - SRT swapped 2003 R/T... back to the body!
Well I tossed and turned about it but the time has come
Shes for sale
We bought an '05 Ford 500 Limited AWD today. It was actually my sales managers wifes that they brought back because he bought her a Lincoln half ton truck.
Im going to sell the neon to pay off some bills and get us out of debt, except for the new car loan of course. Its been a fun ride, ive had her for 6 years but its time to let go.

I know! It kills me to let it go. But down the road I will get something else to play with I guess. Im going to pay off a bunch of stuff with the money which I think is the smart move. But I have already been planning some stuff for the new car. Trunk is huge so I can fit a nice system and still toss a stroller in there lol.LilSparkPlug wrote::'( Aw man just when you started making awesome progress with her
Hammering out a deal with someone right now. Looks like it might be sold, as long as they meet me on my price which is only a few hundred over what they have offered. A few minor issues will have to be taken care of by me on the car but I will be getting more that what most would think. Hard to see her go but its the right choice for right now.
Feels like its been ages since I have been on here, but I guess in all reality it has.
Ended up selling the car to the people that were interested in it in my last post. Went to a 16 girl the next town over. I ended up leaving my job with ford and worked in that same town and would see the car from time to time. Last time I saw it, before the owner and parents moved, it had new factory headlights and the front lip was removed or broken.
The Ford I replaced the R/T with is now gone as well.
Which brings me to its replacement.....
Its a 2011 Chevy Cruze LTZ w/RS package
So far Ive tinted it - 5% rears and 50% fronts.
Future plans include Trifecta tune, maybe lower it a bit and some intake/exhaust work

Back from the dead....
Sitting around the house last night playing on KIJIJI on my phone and came across an ad in a town 4 hours away for my old car. Needless to say Ive thought about what I would do if I seen that it was up for sale again.
This morning we came to an agreement on price, looks like it will be coming back "home" in the next couple of weeks!
.... oh and looks like I've sourced a donor car for a 2.4T swap ...

Starting to get excited! Picking it up on Sunday!
Its going to take a little while before I start digging in to the car too much. I wasn't expecting to buy a car, let alone this one! Short term though there are a few things I plan to do... like remove the 35% tint from the rear doors and back glass and go with some 5% and do the fronts 50 or 35. Fronts are illegal here, and I own my own business tinting so I will probably just stick with the 50%. Ill service the car, change all the fluids, strip the interior and clean it and that will be it until I find a factory front bumper and lip for it again. Sounds like it may have had a cold weather mishap and now has a front bumper from Extreme Dimensions on it. Ill probably post that up for sale on here cheap if someone wants it when I find a replacement.
I'm like a kid in a candy store right now!

Well I finally picked up the car on Sunday. The 3.5 hour drive took nearly 6 as the car was running a bit funny and over heating. I dont remember ever flushing the cooling system in the car when I owned it, and I dont believe they had either. There was a nasty mix of factory long life, green and I think some stop leak in the system. I babied it home and brougt it into the shop yesterday first thing in the morning. Flushed the cooling system and replaced the thermostat. No leaks found and it doesnt heat up anymore. Lucky!
While inspecting the car I have found multipe chips and some scratched on it. Nothing too bad. Still looks great from 10 ft away. The tint is faded and starting to seperate from the glue layer. Ill take care of that next week as I tint on the side. Going with 5% on the rear and 50% on the front doors.
Im guessing the coolant issues originated from the cause of the front bumper being replaced. The rad support bottom corner on the drivers side took a good impact! Its pushed back 3-4 inches and crumpled. A nice low hit. The fender and hood still line up so it hasnt pushed anything up. Easy fix with a port-a-power and hammer. I just wish they had disclosed it to me, or I had looked at it better before handing over my cash.
....and now as the icing on the cake, none of the factory speakers are working. The car has an aftermarket deck that I installed years back. It worked when I picked it up and drove it home, did the cooling system repairs and now it doesnt. Just another thing to fix!
Im going to drive it for a couple days, make a list of what it needs and probably park it until Im back from some holidays in July.
I think its going to be a larger project then what I originally thought

Started playing with the car a bit. Changing plugs and wires. Figured I would tidy up the valve cover at the same time. This is the first time ive played with something like this. Decent for a rattle can job. Next motor ill powder coat it I think.
Just need to install the gaskets that go in the valve cover around the spark plug tubes and ill put everything back together, bring home the DRBIII and clear the missfire code and fingers crossed all is well for now.
Just had to put some money into my pickup '13 Ram 1500 (air bags and diff service) before we head out on the road tomorrow for some camping in Prince Rupert BC. Hopefully Ill have some real progress when we get back!

Glad to see you're back, but you have to think, you didn't have it for 4 years. Might as well write it off as neglected and replace everything you can.
Good luck with it!

Well I got it back together tonight. New plugs and wires and valve cover on. Seems to run better. No misfire codes but I think it still has a slight one. It's like it gets a little fart every second or two up to about 2000 ram then goes away. I didn't get to drive it very far and won't be able to for a while to see if I can feel it on the highway or not. Start up is smooth and quieter then before. Time will tell.... I'll register/insure it in a few weeks to a month. I've been busy with work and have holidays coming up so I won't have much time to play with the car. I've got some interior paint to touch up spots/panels that need it and all the tint Has been removed. Maybe during holidays I'll pull the glass and redo it.
Well its been a while since I made any updates but there hasn't been much to say, up until the last few days. What started out as a quick email looking for a few parts from a wrecker turned into bidding on a wrecked 2005 SRT-4, and picking it up last night. Time to get busy!
The car is a bit rough. I went over it quickly last night at midnight when I finally got it home and in the garage. Hopefully tonight I can start tearing into it! From the looks of it I believe the car is a mopar stage 2 without toys.

The car now has an extreme dimensions body kit from bumper on it. The people that I sold it too, and bought it back from, had damaged the front end and put a different bumper on. I figure if im doing the front, ill match it with the rear. Ill probably sell the passenger side doors, truck and passenger fender and some other ods and ends
Thought I should give this an update. The day after I got the orange car I programed a key and went to fire it. Nothing but 1 large clunk. To make a long story short, engine is fucked. So I contacted the people I got the car from and as of today I have a used long block from a 05 PT Cruiser turbo on its way, free of charge. Hopefully I have it by the weekend and can start the swap then.
Other then that I've swapped cluster, door panels, kicker stereo hood and front bumper and some other odds and ends. Still need to do the suspension. I think I'm going to do the swap motor only and use the nvg350 that's currently in the car. I just want to get it running. When that trans goes, I'll swap it with the 850 from the orange car. I'm just anxious to get some boost going. I'll update with pictures soon.
Oh and I finally completed the interior! Everything is matched finally!

Thank you! It should be fun with the t350. The stock trans was replaced with a used unit about a year or so ago. I hope that they did the clutch at the same time or else its got 206xxx km on it and wont hold the first 2nd gear pull I do with the car. I want tire smoke, not clutch! Ill have to make the call once I have everything tore down. Might just have to swap in the t850 but have my fingers crossed I can just drive the damn thing for the rest of the summer.ragek23 wrote:nice wheels . That car will be really nice with a turbo. The combo of the 350 and the turbo setup means that car is going to be freakin quick. The srt gears are supper long in comparison.
Here are some pics of everything so far
Both cars together outside. Put my old hood on the orange car for now to keep the weather and sticky fingers out while I wait for the other motor to show up
Interior blacked out
Orange before tear down started
What I found under the valve cover
Can anyone tell me what this might be for?
Ordered a few parts today. Keep in mind that Im trying to do this swap on somewhat of a budget. I ordered an AFE short ram intake due to the one pipe missing. Ordered a Mopar blue plate as the car had a different blow off valve that was stolen off of it. Still need to get the other piece that bolts to it as the turbo just has a block off plate on it right now.
Next I need to get the pipe from the intercooler to throttle body. Does this have a temp sensor in it? I looked quickly at work today on star parts and thats what it looked like.
Other then that I should be good. Im sure ill run into a few things here and there but im really looking forward to the motor showing up and getting to start on this. Hopefully by the end of the month I can
