03sxr/t - SRT swapped 2003 R/T... back to the body!
Found some more pics on my phone of the second time in the paint booth
Im starting to find it very hard to wait around for my wheels and tires to show up. The weather here has been great the last little bit. Warm enough to drive with the sunroof open and windows down. I cant stand the sound of the studs on my winter tires and handling is terrible on dry pavement at highway speeds, which I found out last night!
We were driving up to the inlaws late last night, probably around 10:30 or so doing 105 km/hr. I came around a bend and there was a cat on the road so I very lightly got on the brakes, and I mean very lightly! and drove around it hitting the shoulder of the highway. With normal tires a move like that would have been no problem at all but with the high sidewalls and studs it was hard to get the car to settle after.

At first our parts manager said 6-8 weeks so I said to order them asap. Then when he called and placed the order they said I should see them in 2-3 weeks. The tires they had in stock in canada but the rims were coming out of the states somewhere. I have a feeling Ill see them sometime next week or the week after. Its driving me nuts not having them!LilSparkPlug wrote:Yeah studs are very dangerous to drive on in dry conditions. Did they give you an ETA?

[quote="03sxr/t"]Gf had the car yesterday and was parked way out in a parking lot with no one around. Came out 10 min later to this
Left a small ding on rear door. More of a scuff than anything and Ill polish it out. Its actually really hard to see but a piss off none the less. Lasted 4 days since I pulled it out of the booth. Left a little note on their windshield for them
Car looks good mate....ohh and why is that ...we park so far away or really well so as to avoid door dings and some prick parks like that?
I remember just last week...I parked far faraway in the parking lot...hundreds of spaces free...why did 2 cars park on either side of my car so close....fark man.!!! I say...park in a bay away from me...

I like people who BUY a 10 sec car and then brag about it. Thats like hiring someone to bang your wife and then bragging about the kid

Im tossed on the idea of going with lowering springs. It is my daily for now and might be for a while and I still drive it in the winter. We got lucky this winter and didnt have much snow, but if next year is closer to an average year we can expect twice as much and I dont think a lowered car would be fun in that. I would also need new struts I think as mine are original with 150,000+ km on them and might not last much longer with new springs.
I would really like to go with coil-overs so I could have it more slammed in the summer and bring it back up in the winter. I would also like to be able to go to a tire with more sidewall which I should be able to do with coils compared to the factory suspension. Oh well time will tell what happens. Still want to get some different headlights and HID's to help driving the mountain highways out here and I think that might come before anything else.
