The before pics are much better quality wise. Hard to judge the difference with the AFTER shots being so blurry. What offset are those wheels? I think they might be a bit too positive.

yeah, i realize the other ones are blurry. i will get betters pics soon, as the car still looks as good as when i finished.

the wheels are +35. they're not too positive, IMO. they're flush with the fenders, that's what i wanted. pretty aggressive.

Parking my 1gn next to yours this morning really shows how bad of shape my car is in LOL.

i looked at the both of them when i was walking to work n said to myself.. "my god my car looks like ass" lol

ahh it is a nice day out today. Hopefully the old coupe will see some wax n a lil TLC today LOL.

we will have to do a local cruise to the park soon.. If this Effin weather makes up its mind!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a good random orbital buffer like Porter Cable. I myself got a Griot random orbital...it's not quite as aggressive as the Porter Cable, but it does a fine job. No, it won't remove deep scratches, but I bought this for a finishing buffer. My dad has a Makita rotary, so if I need one, I'll use that...but for finishing, the random orbit is a great buffer.

BTW...I've always hated those wheels, but now that I see them on your car, they look pretty damn good!

nevertheless, i would like to buy a rotary in order to cut better, to remove some deeper scratches for customers. but for now, i will save my $250-300 for a rotary and buy some parts for myself, and keep plugging away with the porter cable.

anyway, pics soon with the lugs...which are to arrive on wednesday now. my buddy put my old address on the package, so it was returned to sender...haha.

oh, and i suppose i should take pics of my mopar short throw that i just installed as well.

well, after some shipping confusion and stuff, i finally have my work locking nuts. pics soon, as well as interior pics of the shifter that i still haven't gotten yet.

oh, and i fiddled with the fitment of my exhaust so that it tucks in a little more, i still need to fix the passenger side tip from sticking out farther than the driver side though. other changes include no more fogs and rear diffuser removed (should be started on my other one within the month). also a gutted trunk except for the spare tire.

Hmmm no new pics is right. Where are they? And I have a Dewalt 849 Rotary and absolutely love it :) Much heavier than some other models and it doesn't have a speed lock trigger either. But that's what I learned on and that's what I love about it. You can get them with the speed lock trigger though.

i think i would prefer the speed lock trigger, especially if it was my first rotary. as of now, i'm going to stick with my porter cable, i'm busy paying off debt rather than buying much stuff for the car, or anything car related. oh well, at least i have my priorities straight.

and yeah, i know the pics are overdue. currently i'm in bed sick, i'm heading to the hospital shortly. i might have mono, but i'm going to find out soon enough.

turns out i have strep throat. god damn, i hate missing out on so much pay. won't be able to make it back to work til monday probably.

yeah man shit sucks. i just had mono. had it for about all of april and some of may. terrible. i had strep throat along with it. not fun.

I have a Dewalt as well with the locking trigger but I never use the lock. I love how precise the trigger is which gives you complete control over what the buffer is doing.

And yes its heavy. weighs over 8lbs. 8lbs + side to side for 10 hours = very tired and sore arms lol. Then add a wet compounding pad ontop of it.....oh boy.

Car looks good bud. im gonna make a project log of the swap, its in rough shape :shock:

I wouldn't trade it for the world though. I love the trigger also not mushy at all and it allows for greater control than you'd realize. Strep sucks I hope you feel better soon.

just thought i'd bring my log back from the dead.

just got back from my trip to ontario and back, which was a blast, but while i was there i got a deal on a carbon fiber hood and trunk that i couldn't pass up. coincidentally, my jsp hood and oem trunk are for sale now...haha.

i'll post pics soon once my buddies get around to uploading them once they get home. but for now, you get to wait.

well, it looks like i may be getting rid of my beloved r/t. :(

i have put too much money into it as of late, and i keep chasing problems and putting money into the car, more than i should be.

an e-blue srt got traded in at work, with 170xxx on the clock, it would be a bit of a project, but most of the work would be able to be done by myself. if i get it, i will be swapping my interior over, as well as my wheels, and new carbon hood and trunk, and short throw, maybe even carpet. *sigh*

on a side note, if anyone knows any common problems with high km/milage srt's (mechanical more or less, i already know the control arm bushings will need to be addressed, probly end links too), please chime in.

they are selling this thing for nothing, so it will definitely be a project, but the employee price i would get would allow me some room to be able to fix what needs to be fixed and almost break even (think: $5500 cdn)

I would buy it overhaul the suspension, throw a rebuild kit on the motor (if it doesnt have one already), replace the turbo and check the transmission. Look into if the radiator hoses/radiator have been replaced and do a full flush of all systems.

good call crystal.

after i take it for a spin im gonna put it on the hoist at work and take a look. if bushings are gone, time for a poly kit. if the bc's are trash (which they shouldn't be, apparently they look new), then i'll put my tokico's with my s-techs on the car. i did plan on changing all the fluids as well, but thanks for the reminder.

as far as the rebuild kit goes, what would that consist of? i'm guessing head gasket, valve cover gasket, valve seals etc? and do the rad hoses usually crack over time? im assuming they would since i know those motors get real hot, and i would assume the hoses expand and contract, especially after 170k.

as far as the exterior goes, obviously i can restore that myself. the dents will be done at work for next to nothing, and once all that is done i have a new(ish) srt for 5 gs plus repair. not too bad really..

well...the deed is done.

i put a down payment on the srt today. got it for the low staff price of $6000. it was 178xxx on it, there's a couple dings, scratches, etc. but that can all be fixed with paint. the thing ran like a champ on the test drive. needs a brake service, which i can do at work real easy, needs a door checks, possibly a new door handle, and the interior could be better...but im also fixing that up better to put in the r/t to sell.

so yeah, today was a good day.

yeah, there's only so much i can do with this one. there's a couple dents that i need to get addressed, and a couple areas that will need paint next spring/summer. but i mean, for 6 g's, i can't complain. the motor is strong, that was the main thing. it will look a lot better once i'm done with it, for sure.

i have lots of stuff to swap back and forth from the r/t to the srt.

i will have pics as soon as i can. kinda hard when my broke ass can't afford to get a digital cam like i've wanted to all summer :rofl:
