Somewhat finished. i need to extend all the wires to the fusebox. That way they run to the core support instead of over the wheel

OK so friday the truck took a shit on me. I drove it about 4 miles (10 mins) and then started making knocking noises. I have no clue what it could be but the mechanic is guna come back tomorrow to check some things.

Apparently its been running on 5 cylinders. ima get the injectors checked. and also the freeze plugs are guna get checked as well seeing as there is a water leak coming from the lower end of the block.

But anyway, since i have no form of transportation i got this afternoon. So i grabbed some fine line tape and started throwing down lines. heres what i came up with

the beginning
Image

Masked and painted

Unmasked

finished product

up close it looks kinda crappy but over all its cool with me

Oh yea and im also running the 3 rims, 1 steelie mod. dint want the lo pros to get too much camber wear from my fucked up alignment

OK so in light of the current condition of the truck, its been turn into a lawn ornament....

So since its not getn moved anywhere i decided i should do something ive been wanting to to my dash. So yesterday i got to dismantling

Im guna be smoothing, filling and painting the panel around the gauges and HVAC controls

Image
Image

After i took apart the lower part of the dash So i could have easier access to what i wanted
Image

Here it is...
Image

Made a filler piece close to the edge where the previous owner had made some wierd ass cover and siliconed it in, lol
Image
Image

Smoothing the texture down
Image

Over half of the piece smoothed down. Layed down some high fill primer.
Image

The primer is drying as i type. Im getting ready lo lay another coat down so i have a nice surface to sand.

IM thinking of painting it a dark red. I have an idea just dnt know if its guna work.

Moar soon

OK so its pretty much all done. I just forgot to lay a bit of putty where the air bubbles where. So i ended up priming.

I may be able to get it done by the weekend, paint and all. I may go with a charcoal gray then some flat clear to finish it off. not sure yet. Anyway heres what i got so far

Image

The main problem area i had. Pics in my other post show what was there.

Lets resurrect this thread...

So after some researching i figured out what one issue with my engine is, the head gaskets. Theres like steam coming out the left side wen i warms up enough. istill need to find the water leak but finally the tear down begins...

The start...
Image

"Intake chamber" out after about an hour of trying to disconnect lil shit.

Image

Stupid ass EGR
Image

Timing cover off
Image

And i pulled the harness out just to remove some of the clutter

OK so finally yesterday the heads came off. Between my GF, her bro, and myself we finished. Took my GFs 250+lb brother to counter how hard i was tuggin at the Cam sprocket bolts.

Sprockets off

Cylinder bores are clean and smooth. I found where the head gaskets blew and it was the #5 & 6 cylinders (closest to firewall)

Il get pics later of the heads and block.

But on with project #2
Lip rolling...

I ended up with a huge dip an inch tall starting from the lip on up along with other dings that were already there. Thats why theres filler all along the shit

And my tools....

Ok its been a while since the last update. I never did get pics of the dam cylinders and the heads BUT I did manage to do a couple of other things...

Started off sanding and got damn near nowhere
Image

I decided to try the oven cleaner method with very lil success
Image
Image
Image

Finally got around to using some paint stripper, got mostly everything off exept some surface rust that had to be sanded off
Image

the finished product after 2 coats of Rust-oleum clear. It still has some imperfections which i really like cuz i dnt want perfection
Image

Made some Junkyard runs with my GFs brother and picked up some power mirrors off a 4Runner, corner light pigtails, and the connectors for my bumper lights

Image

The truck i got this one from was burnt on the front end so this one is a bit charred but nothing that cnt be fixed
Image

Image
Image

And some check valves for the vaccum lines
Image

And finally my mom was able to lend me a hand with buying my parts so My head gaskets are coming along with new bolts, a water pump, misc gaskets and a new GRILLE!!!

Oh and i also got a new to me Cold Start Injector from the JY.

More updates soon i hope
