Why? Unless it's a road hazard deal a tire warranty won't cover a nail in the tread and it's cheap enough to have them repaired that it's not even worth the hassle of trying to find the warranty information.

By "cheap enough" I mean it's FREE if you go to Discount Tire...

ah i just reread the warranty info for my tires just so i know myself. they will cover a tire if it is puncured but only if it cant be patched, so you're sorta right.

Road hazard covers the tire if it's not repairable (without obvious damage of you driving on it while it's flat) but a standard tire warranty usually will not.

this isnt the manufacturers warranty, this is through discount tire direct.

Then you're reading their road hazard warranty.

I decided to inspect the passenger side wheels and tires today for cracks and/or nails. I also wanted to clean up the Brembo's.

..and you know, for 26,500 miles, I think the engine bay still looks brand new. It helps that I am super OCD when it comes to my car.

My opinion is I would take off the plastic engine cover. I hate opening a hood and just seeing plastic. Otherwise the car is looking sexy as always.

Did you change the airbox to an HKS unit or do they manufacture the factory one?

I think it's just an HKS filter.

It wouldn't be as clean with the cover removed. It hides a lot of stuff.. But thank you for the compliment.

Just the HKS drop in Filter.. It's visible as the "box" connects to the front and back of the filer.

Looks like i'm going to be going to the Dealership tomorrow. Apparently either Mitsubishi is dumb or the dealership's service department is retarded. I had the shifter boot replaced because the leather was wearing near the top by the knob and now a couple month later I shifted into forth and the shifter boot came loose

Image

Since when do car companies use zip ties to attach shifter boots to the shaft?

How do you feel that Mitsubishi has decided to cut the evolution program and look at more sufficient development?

LOL at zipties. That's some jury-rigged bs. I'd have them replace the whole boot.

Sucks to have one less performance car option after 2013, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. As I've said before I don't have any loyalties in the car world, I buy the best performance car for the money. Right now it looks like after 2013 I'll be looking at Subaru unless something new comes out.

I think Mitsubishi dropping their flagship car to move towards E.V. isn't very smart as a company. There's a demand for the Evo, even though they only sell roughly 6000 units world wide. The Evo and rally inspired performance has defined Mitsubishi for decades. Engineering and Designing the next generation Evolution wasn't going to be cheap. When you're trying to rebrand your company you need that extra capital to go forward.

That's the plan. I'm getting kind of tired of dealing with this dealership. Just sucks they're the only Mitsubishi dealership within 50 miles.

Did you get the shift boot taken care of?

No, not yet. My girlfriend was rushed into the hospital on Saturday after suffering a seizure and hitting her head pretty hard on the ground. I've basically been working and tending to her as she cannot drive for 3 months according to the doctors.
