Actually have a buddy that just told me 30 lol. Head has 84k on it. Stripped all of the interior out today and cleaning everything up. Has 2gn console with 2gn ebrake handle. Someone told me that the ebrake was adjustable at the lever unlike the 2gn. Is that true. If so, maybe I can't do that now that it has the 2gn lever.

Got all the interior cleaned and put back in. The car's interior is really clean surprisingly. Timing belt, tensioner, and idler pully came in today so sunday will tell me whether i need a head or not.

The stock mounts go into the strips on top somehow, but he didn't use the factory mounting.
And yea I want to get it through the winter for now, then start on it as a little project

Woke up this morning to see this
Was hoping to have the coupe on the road by the first time it snowed. Plus I don't like having to scrape my windows since the coupe is taking up my garage space..

Yea it don't like me. We rearranged the garage so they all fit in for now. New head is going to machine shop to get hot tanked and shit like that. Now I'm going to paint valve cover and intake manifold. First question is red or black. Wrinkle or gloss finish?

Do it black, it hides more. And gloss is easier to clean.

I picked up a can of Black SemiGloss Engine Paint Today.

Valve Cover came out okay... I didn't put much time into sanding it and it looks like someone sanded half the metal down on top. The hole thing along with the intake was covered in oil. Intake is still soaking in purple power. Oh well better than before.
Anyone have any tips on gasket matching/polishing the head and intake mani?

I think it came out damn good from the way the picture looks

Yea you can't tell in picture but you can tell the little spots in person, but thanks.
Started to lightly port and polish the intake. Dam does that take forever. Granted this is my first time.
Throttle body side is done, and one port is done. 3 more to go plus the head lol.

That's one thing I'm not sure I'd have the patience for...it takes FOREVER to do. Do you have the Carbide bits for a dremel, what method are you using?
Posted: Fri Dec 11, 2009 2:17 pm
by heydockyle
I have an air dremel and electric dremel. Air is a snap-on one with metal cutting bits, not sure what the exact name of it is. I'll check tonight.
The electric one I'm using the sandpaper attachment to make smooth, and then the little wire wheel thing to make it shiny and smoother.
It is my first time so just kinda winging it lol.

I don't get enough attention with one log for both, let alone 2 logs lol. Maybe once I get it all together and running I will start a new one.
