^ yeah i wish i had that S256 now for my srt engine. blah o well. im glad you like it.

yeah its pretty much gonig to be stock for the first year, till tax time 2012. then i will upgrade turbo & other stuff. but i do have a downpipe for it & Injen turbo intake along with a JMB cold side pipe with Turbo XS RFL bov on it. & stage 1 injectors. i dont have my own pic of the engine up yet because i go to pick it up tomorrow from this place, i didnt have it deliverd to my house because it was gonna cost too much that way. then i will open most of it up to inspect it before i put it in the car wich im planning to do this weekend. it only has 55k miles on it and its comes 95% complete with everything on it besides the injectors and fuel rail wich i just recieved.

See injectors just arrived.

well just got back from picking up my engine from the shipping company and all i gotta say is this swap is not happening this weekend. I'm going to have to get in touch with the guy i bought my engine because this engine was not as bad as it is rite now. from what i can tell im going to have to spend another $300 on stuff i see broken and thats bad.

like the a/c compressor sensor is broken off and i can barely get it out, the TPS sensor clip is broken off so i need a new one of those, the idler pulley i need as well, it looks to me like the shipping company dropped the motor and thats when all this stuff broke. i couldn't tell all this from picking it up this is just from a few minutes ago and inspecting it further.

well theres booger bushings on the shifter cables which is good. lol. theres a block off plate too on the turbo, shows no sign of shaft play.

oh and thank you Crystal for the O2 housing, awesome packaging.

on another note there is what looks to me like a Gates racing timing belt on it and the timing marks align up which is a good sign. plugs looked good too.

shipping company YRC

in the meantime im going to see how much these parts are going to run me and ill buy them, i mean theres a chance the shipping company wont do anything or wont send me the money for the damage since i didnt note it when picking it up because honestly i couldnt see all the damage since like i said the engine was turbo side down on the pallet.

does anyone know what that piece is that the oil filter mounts too..? sorry for the noob boob ness but i know more about the regular neon engine than i do srt engine at this point.

Oil cooler...two hoses clamp to it and goto the back of the block (coolant travels through the hoses) but if the motor took some impact, it'd cause it to leak... I replaced one on my last motor cause I dropped it (like 6")

Anyhow, I might be getting my stuff from storage mid month rather than the first... whatever I have that you need..you can have for shipping + a few bucks for gas.

99% sure I have an ac compressor, power steering pump, motor mounts (if you need em) and a bunch of other misc stuff.

Ok get at me when you get parts available.

I think I'm still going to try & get started this weekend by taking the RT engine out & dropping the gas tank & putting new srt4 fuel pump in there.

This way I can clean the engine bay down some & route new wiring & make sure I don't need something else that I have possibly forgotten.

Why not keep the car driveable until you are ready to do the swap?

I haven't heard/seen anything about him having one so unless he's borrowing mommy or daddy's car I'm operating under the assumption he will be carless.

a good idea to pull it out and take ur time with the car/install, then it will be installed clean and right. that is what i would do honestly, and that will also give u time to try to get some money for the shmucks that dropped the engine on ya. (hopefully u can)

ok so heres what im thinking,

this weekend to do list.

get RT engine out
pull stock engine bay harness with fuse box out
drop gas tank and replace fuel pump assembly with srt4 fuel pump assembly.
put new srt4 engine bay harness with fuse box in
put srt4 pedals in
put skim module in, i have no idea where its at.
change out ignition cylinder as well
finally install prothane bushings on LCA
install srt hubs
sand down valve cover and spray black before next weekend.
& cut holes for intercooler ends to go trough and mount intercooler.

Somewhere in between there ill be taking off RT head and TB and Manifold cause got possible buyers for it already.

& for sat May the 21st hopefully install srt4 engine and turn it on & hopefully everything runs fine.

i also got some more goodies in the mail today whick ill post up pics of tomorrow because ill get more tomorrow as well.

I'd mount the fuse box but if it was me, I'd install the harness on the motor....then install motor + harness as one.

I'm sure you can do it either way but it's easier to me to setup the harness on the motor, plug it all in then get it in the car ;)

small update: did not have time to pull engine. been busy with work. but did have time to do get rid of old paint on valve cover. just going to spray it black and put a few nice coats of clear so it can shine real good.

Image

also recived a few more parts in the mail. one wich ill show here.. my New Injen intake for the turbo. found it for a nice price on ebay. Also you can see i mounted my fuel rail and injectors. :-) oh yeah & engine looks real clean in this pic becuse i removed the engine harness because i have another one thats more complete to put on there.

Image

Edited later on:

Got valve cover primered and wet sanded. just needs paint now, wich i will do tomorrow. I was going to tape off the letters but i will just brush the paint off them before i trow some clear coat on there.
