Junk yard never answers the dam phone. Bringing this back from the dead so I can find it when the time comes. Got a set of APC? tails for free the other day. Going to take them apart and start on another taillight project.

Just got off the phone with one junkyard. He is trying to tell me that a 96 2.4 and a 97 2.4 (Both from a stratus) are two completely different motors. He said the timing chain is different, the electronics are different.

The only thing that I know was changed is the tensioner..?

Now unless he knows something we all don't know, is he just a bit special?

Ofcourse they don't have any anyhow. Bout to just tear into the bottom end and replace the bearings. Would be much cheaper and less of a headache.

Anyone know any reason why the oil would be really full. I think it spun a crank or rod bearing but I checked the oil today and it is all the way up the the words where it says add 1 quart.

Doesn't smell like gas, doesn't look milky, and I sure as he'll know I didn't add and extra like to quarts.

I know. But I want to get everything sorted out first and confirmed before I post progress. My gloating will end up fucking me over in the long run. Atleast thats what usually happens to me..

I found a motor and I'm supposed to go pick it up Sunday.
Also received Injectors, PS mount, and 2.4 Mount adapter today. Alternator and other PT stuff should be here tomorrow.

So look for updates Sunday.

Coolant in the oil, if it gets time to mix, the oil will settle on top, looking full.

2.4 FTW!

Didn't take any pics yet. I will get some later. Motor is out. Other motor will go in when the rest of my parts come in. I'm going to take the head off my 2.0 probably tuesday to see why it blew. But the #1 cylinder had chunks in it and the piston doesn't look to be there...

Oh and my exhaust is being held in by one mount. The transmission bolts were lose. And the kid didn't have the bobble strut bolted up. Fucking idiots.

Intake mani also needs taken apart and soaked because it is full of oil from the oil being so overfull.

2.4 also has a belt that looks newish with like 4 part numbers on it and says made in italy. Safe to say it's not stock?

Uhhh... I may not be the smartest man in the world, but I don't think a spark plug should look like that.
