I just finished my second set bi-xenon projectors.
Those are Mercedes D2S projectors on selfmate mounting plates in the modified stock reflector and with my special vacuformed shrouds.

They are almost ready to install in a set 2003+ headlights.

I could also install them into headlights - but that would naturally increase the price...

I also finished finally the first sets of my custom style eyelids!

I finally found the time to make some sets of my vacuformed eyelids for the 2003+ headlights.
I am still waiting for my 2000+ headlights, so those eyelids have to wait.

The material is 1mm styrofoam plastic. Very easy to handle, still flexible and easy to paint.

Now they only have to be cut in the right shape and painted colormatching.
Cutting is easy with a carpet knife.
And i will give a template of the s-style to every set to give an idea and hint how it could look like...

i sell the eyelids for 20$ a set plus 7.50 if you wanna have them in s-style.
i am just about to find out a shipment quote but i think it will be like 17-20$...

I hope i will get the 1st gen and 2000+ headlights very soon!
Noone here needs 2003 eyelids, they all have the older headlights...

cool stuff!

I'm pretty surprised it took this long for vaccuum forming to take off in the car world... I know several years ago when I was big into building 1/25 scale model cars people were vaccuum forming parts.

Gratz on the hood props. Worth the money to upgrade to some.

That heat shield looks crowded and out of place IMO. I still wish you'd swap rims to something.....else.

Fuse box cover looks cool. Those struts look weird to me though because of how far back they sit. I guess it's all in how you mount them. Did you get them from a company?

Posted: Thu Jul 29, 2010 12:05 am
by Jenni
struts? you mean the hood lifters?
they were made for Opel Calibra - so you can say "universal". Just bought them from eBay for 13 Euro and installed them by guess and by gosh.
I know - the expensive hood lifters over there are mounted in the other direction and upside down - but who cares? They work perfect like they sit now and i really love it!
read here for more:

For the fusebox: it it not 100% perfect, have to find a way how to cut it exactly. But i guess painted it will look killer.
It was easy - just placed the cover on my vacuumtable, dodge sign from front bumper on top and vacuformed a plastic sheet over it. finished.
i could also use every other sign, symbol or whatever fits on the fusebox as long it is "3D" - it will press a relief into the plastic in the vacuforming progress...
