well if you didn't have the car as a daily then you wouldn't have to fix it all the time :)

I've had it on my car for a long time, and only had to repaint, never because it cracked...

I mounted the Accord Lip on my halfa r/t bumper (only part I could slavage when I first found one) and I must say it looks damn good..

I'm gonna put this project on hold til the weekend til I get another lip cuz this lip has a lot of damage on the bottom..

I might end up writing a how to on this so all the r/t & acr folks can do this as well..

Lip looks nice, it looks like a second R/T lip. Love all the work you do man, wish I was that creative/skilled!

I can't say that I like the accord lip on the R/T. It might be because your bumper seems unflared, and the sides close in, showing your tires from the front view.

Maybe if you put on flares and push the sides out more, I would change my opinion and like them.

dan: I got the brushes from wally world for bout 1.10-1.25 ea i believe. I've used the wooden brushes before and hated them cuz the brushes be too soft.

glasswars: thanxs bro. Its a curse i tell ya. Thats y the neon isn't done yet cuz i keep changing my mind on stuff and coming up with more ideas. It gets crazy sometimes.

tam: Exactly. Thatswhat i get for buyin these wide ass tires. I do plan on flaring out the side of the bumper about an inch or so and I'm working on a front lip/splitter to cover the rest. The stock accord lip is just a tempo and used for measuring purposes.

You can.. Its all in experience and trail/error..

When I first played with fiberglass, my project looked like crap.. As I practiced more, I learned different ways to do things to make the project quicker and easier..

Now get out there and start making stuff..

Start with your neon bro.. Just think of something you want to make and pic its location, go to the j-yard, pick up some spare parts, and go to town..

Door Panels are soaked as well..

Almost pissed myself off. I soaked the driver side first then right in the middle of the passenger side, I ran out of fb resin.. So I literary flew to autozone (which is like 2 mins away) to grab another quart to finish up.

Now I'm playing the waiting game now...

And this lil booger showed up today..
Image

End of the week looks like this..

Not 100% sure on what I'm working on tomorrow but I'll do something..

Til then..

bstc00: Thanxs bro..

Dan: It happens.. You know how much fleece loves resin ..

Ntyvirus1:

Crsytal: I think it should be a new guideline in the progress thread.. Just must have a board stating what you will be doing to show your progress..

Wanted to work on the fornt doors too but lost track of time helping matt at the shop playing plumber ..

Hope tomorrow is as beautiful as today was..

How r u gonna finish it. R u gonna wrap that fiberglasses section?? Or paint it and once u finish how will u do the edges between the door panel and fiberglasses area

Posted: Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:27 pm
by z3roneo
I haven't really decided on what to do with them just yet..

I think if I wrap them, they'll be the focal point rather than the plaid inserts. Besides that, I think it'll be too much going on.. I might just paint them to look like the came stock..

As for the edges, they'll be trimmed down at an angle and hopefully I can smooth them into the panels with bondoglass.. (I don't think it'll take the everyday abuse of opening and shutting the door)..

We'll see..

Didn't post up yesterday cuz was having a real bad day..

I was able to change the oil and spark dudes in the compass..

Coil on plug are nice as hell.. Wish the neon had them..
Image

As you can see, the spark plugs were needing a change..

Came back home to work on the fog light retro and ended up dropping them for the the 2nd floor of my apartment stairs.. Managed to save one but the other wasn't so lucky..
Image
Image

Good thing is that the idea hasn't died.. I had these on my friends 1gn for a while when I was in it.. Decided to hold on to them cuz I liked how bright they are..

These are known as the "Blazer" Fog Lights in the retro world.. They're h3 bulbs and I've put some spare AEM gauge rings over them as a shroud..

I plan on making fiberglass replicas of the fog light delete panels, cut a circle out and just mounting like that so they'll appear to be stock...

And in a lil bit, I'll post what I have in store for his week..

Oh yea.. I also placed 2 big orders that should arrive in about 2 weeks..
*Ordered a Custom Injector Cover from Shwparts.net
*Ordered my HID Kit for my E55 Headlight Retro (d2s 5000k bulbs, 35 watt ballast) from Ddmtuning.com
*And the last Order is a Huge Secret.
