Superdans First Car Log...Swap begins

My first car was a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. It was a great car, although it was huge and a grandma car i liked it for the most part. It got me from point A to B. I got it when i was 16 as sort of a gift from my grandpa.
Kept it all stock, besides the autozone hubcaps, but what can you do i am a ricer
Also had a jensen 7" flip-out touch screen in it hooked up to 2 pioneer 12" subs with a 620 watt amp (might be wrong about that but it was weird number lol)
Anyways, these 3.1L V6 engines were notorious for something with the coolant mixing with the oil. Virtually no way to get around it without catching the problem early. Unfortunately, one day my car stocked 'knocking' and by then it was too late. Took it and got the lifters replace, headgasket replaced and some other random stuff replaced. That all lasted for about 6 months before the knock came back. Though this time the knock wasnt as bad. It was at that point i decided to look for another car (the neon lol). One of my friends ended up needing a car so i told him i would sell him mine and we agreed on a price and i drove it to his house which was about 2 or 3 miles away from mine. No knocking from the engine the whole way there. To make a long story short he took the car to his mechanic to get some maintenance done to it that i told him a head of time about. He calls me and says that he mechanic said the engine was shot. So me and my pap hook his trailer up to his truck and go get the car. The car would barely stay running. Gave my friend his money back and told him sorry about everything and all was well. Now i have a worthless car lol This all happened back in 2007.
Present Day: My pap was looking in the news paper and someone had a 3.1L V6 engine from a lumina for sale. So he called about it and they wanted 500 for the whole car. He talked them down to 300 and went and picked it. Now this is the first time for me doing any kind of major engine work let alone a whole 'swap'. I just started the tear down of the donor car today.
I will save your eyes from any more reading and post some pics!!!
My car..which is currently sitting in the parking lot behind my house.

Now on to the donor car:

As you can see this car took a nasty hit. Story was some girl moved out of her parents house to live with her boyfriend so her parents stopped paying for insurance lol She went to go get groceries and on her way home, coming around a turn veered off her side of the road, over correct and hit head on with a truck, whic send her over a hillside. Luckily she wasnt hurt. The car on the outside looks terrible but it still starts up and runs fine
My progress for the day:

This will be a learning experience for me to say the least. This car may turn into my winter car or i may just sell it. Im not sure right now. Hopefully i will be able to keep this log updated as much as possible
