wiggyx wrote:Rattle black the hood, and ditch the cheesy side clear corner lamps. They look terrible and are obviously fogging up on ya'. There are clear OEM lamps of you must have them clear. Personally, I think the orange side markers look classier.
Otherwise, looks good. I'm happy that you ditched all the M badges. Wheels will look killer in black.
I was thinking about doing the hood flat black still since i dont know if anyone notices but it is slightly bent in the front.
But you must have skipped my photo a reply or so above yours...

.
I already got new corner lights an painted the rims.

Poor Beemer. Flat black hoods are for MKII Golfs; Not Beemers.
I think you should have kept the wheels silver. Seeing as your car is a convertible, the interior also plays an important role in your car's overall color pallet. Having too many black items, (not to mention flat black) with a light interior like that, just looks off.
The silver wheels flowed so good. Why'd you change them?

well in person my hood is BADLY oxidized past to were i would need to repaint it. and it is bent in the front, so i want to get a new hood altogether. either im going to wait for another avus blue one to be parted out or get a Carbon fiber one.
I painted the rims mainly becuase I didnt like how they were all curbed and that one was sanded down already. Its not like it cant be painted silver or any color again, next time i paint them im going to fix all the rash.

Welp my tranny/clutch took a dump on me!
I never had 2nd gear the whole time i had the car.
Well today I was driving I took off as usual from a stop light, tried to shift to 3rd. But all the car did was rev, I stop the car. I tried to move it and all the car did was just rev no matter what in any of the gears. I push it to the side of the street and try again, and now my car makes a grinding sound in ANY of the gears, and when i start it with the clutch in it also makes the grinding sound, even if I'm in neutral.
Car is going to be out of commision until i get a job. So that might be a while

Well I got some spare money by working on a friends 1976 MBZ 450SLC.
So i picked up a transmission today for $50. Still need to order my F1 Racing Stage1 clutch kit, and also a rear main seal & input shaft seal. and get my flywheel resurfaced.
Im going to borrow some tools from a friend to start off dropping out the junk transmission.
Also updated first post

well today i decided to stop being lazy and start on prepping my car for the new transmission and clutch install, so i would be faster once i get all the parts.
Dropped out the exhaust system as a whole, sitting next to my $50 transmission.
And here is my junked exhaust heatshield, was all mangled already from previous owner. and after i smashed and stomped on it lol.
And the reason why my car has a wierd exhaust note, the dumb guido looking previous owner drilled/cut to bigg as holes in the catback.
And here is something else he did....horribly cut up and shaved my rear fenders. i guess he never heard of make the rims fit the car not make the car fit the rims.
and my organization of bolts....my mom didnt want to let me use her ziploc so she made me use brown lunch bags LOL
Plans for tomorrow.
Drop the driveshaft
fix my huge P/S leak
Degrease underneath

Transmission is OUT!!!
Took me about 2hrs with me taking piss and food breaks lol.
Who ever did the last clutch/transmission install was a complete dumbass! None of the transmission bolts were tight, only 1 bolt held in my starter. And to top it off THEY DIDN'T PUT IN A PILOT BEARING!
Heres pics of the damge....
I took of the transmission and was like....why is there another part on the input shaft...
Then i looked at my clutch disc...and then i put 2 and 2 together and bam. It broke off the clutch disc b/c there was no pilot bearing.

yeah tell me about it....was able to get the pressure plate and clutch disc off today. why would bmw use hex heads for the pressure plate, i stripped out 3 of them but nothing a hammer on socket cant fix.
Also looks like the clutch disc was installed backwards.

ill post pictures in a little.

Here is some pics of the pressure plate and clutch disc..As you can see it shaved down or something, since it was installed the wrong way.
Also put in my order to gripforce.. I ordered a F1 Racing Stage 2 Clutch kit and all it cost me was $212 with tax and shipping.

So the car has been running smoothly so far, and clutch grabs pretty good, havent tested it yet since I'm still in the break in phase.
But like all my other cars, I decided to put this up on craigslist for shits and giggles.
And someone wants to trade a 1JZ Twin turbo 97" Lexus SC400 for it, I've been wanting one ever since drifting came over here and I might go take a look at it.
