Never let anyone tell you that you can't. The only reason why people say that, is because someone told them they can't and they listened.

Alright, ill let you know. I got my stuff back today that i had sent out to be tigged ( oil pan, fuel rail, and box intake ) So no i just need to drill and tap the manifold, and then powdercoat everything and will be solid.

Looks very nice man.

I'm guessing you tried to lose as little fluid as possible when you looped lines.

Smart move on making them short, much more effective that way.
If the parts car is cleaner rust wise than your car, swap the inner dash panels (VIN) and use the parts car with your title.

Everything looks good besides that under drive pulley stlesst run stock or If u can swing a ati dampner, the 2.0l ate really prone to cracking the oil pump gears hate to see u ruin that motor over a cheap pulley

Really? This has been on my last 2 motors. The first one blew up because it was high miles and it saw 6500 daily, but the boosted motor i had in here prior to this one saw 8k rpm's all the time and it never skipped a beat.

What exactly cracks the oil pump gear? The pully being pressed on too far??

They just don't do any dampening at all. The stock one uses a rubber insert that absorbs small vibrations. The oil pump on the other hand must be static so if those vibrations get out of control, the gear in the oil pump has nowhere to go so it just cracks.

Yep UDP kills harmonics. I've seen guys with a mitsu crank pulley and ATI street damper. Helps alot when you don't have all parts externally/internally balanced.

couldnt of said it better, luck of the draw and your not making good power yet either.. i wouldnt risk it.. throw a stock or ati on there. You dont really need the added rpm rev with a turbo car anyways

Isnt harmonics related to rpm's more than power ? Is so, this motor is going to see right around the same rpm's as the old one.

Yes and no. It's a lot easier to have a hint of knock that you can't hear over natural engine noise when the combustion itself is so loud. And knock does far more to create imbalance than variations in counter balancing.

That, and the more force the pistons/rods are putting on that lever called a crankshaft, makes it bend more, and then flex back.

All that back and forth twisting is basically sent to the timing end of the crank, because the flywheel, or TC for ATX cars, has enough mass to keep that end stable. Thus the oil pump gears are beating against each other, without a damper to absorb some of the oscillation.

Why do you think NGC engines have the crank trigger on the flywheel end? If they didn't they would be throwing false misfire codes like an '02 with a UDP.

Unfortunately, they didn't redesign the new block so the oil pump was on the flywheel end too.
