Well i think i'm going in a slightly different direction but very similar to my original goal.
As it has presented itself i dont want to put much more money out of my pocket into this build (i'm serious for once) So anything that is going to require money, i'm going to sell some things to get the cash. thus the reason for selling the LSD. the money from the LSD will be going towards all the machining costs for the head, a DOHC shortblock, a new PT clutch, and some exhaust work i'm going to need done.

In the end this is what i will have:
DOHC bottom end with ARP rod bolts
Magnum head with SS valves, slightly ported and polished, decked .030
IM will be ported to match head
FF v.2 LTH with 3" flexpipe, Vibrant 3" cat
3.94 trans with welded diff pin and PT clutch

the reason i sacrificed the LSD is my power levels wont be near as high as they would've been with my original build, even with the small shot of nitrous i plan to use its not going to be fighting for traction with good tires.

I picked up this DOHC engine from frank (flipperthedolfin) the other week. I'm selling the head and puting the Mag head on this bottom end to help bump up compression. :)
Image

got the DOHC engine torn down yesterday, the bearings looked awesome which i'm thankfull for, i was hoping i wouldnt have to put a new set in.

Image

pistons out and ready to be cleaned up and filed

nice clean bores

Got a good bit of work done today. The block is primered, pistons are filed down, and the last of my gaskets came in the mail yesterday.

now that the rust converter has dried you can see it turned black, giving the primer a good surface to adhere to.
Image

primered
Image
Image
Image
not pictured but i also replaced the rear main seal also
Image

you can see where i filed the edge of the piston
Image

i also cleaned up the exhaust valve reliefs since they were a little dinged up from bending the valves.
Image

all done

Nice work so far. Ive got pretty much the same setup, comp400 cam dohc pistons, lightly ported mag head decked only 10thou, puts me at bout 10.4:1 ish i think. Stock ecu (pcm) took 2000 miles to do anything tho was propper bummed out till then now I can annoy civic type R's!

I shaved my pistons about the same:

What computer you running? stock mag?

Yeah for now just a stock mag PCM. I'd like to obtain an afxr in the future but we'll see how that goes.
My head is going to be decked .020 so I'll have closer to 11:1

i like the idea of welding the diff pin in, nut now you can never replace just the gears.

on a happier note, lookin good all around. i'm glad there's people out there besides me that put time into their builds (no, the carlisle turbo install doesn't count. i was doing that to say i did it). your title says n2o... did i mis something? how big of a shot? wet or dry?

i realize i can no longer take it apart, but unless the trans grenades itself, i dont forsee any reason to ever need to.
yes once this engine/trans is in i'll be purchasing a single fogger wet system of some sort. looking to spray 75 shot.
and thanks, i try to do things right the first time, i hate having to do things twice when they're done wrong.

now that the old engine and trans have sold, i have the last bit of money needed to finish up this drawn out build

today i ordered a rear main seal, and timing belt tensioner. once those parts are in i just need to finish getting the head ported and assemble it and the rest of the engine. still need to buy a clutch and thats it.

i also painted the LT header, i need to grab some pics of it. its sexy lookin

my dad got me and early xmas present since my old car cover deteriorated.
Image

hopefully within a couple weeks it will be moved into my new garage  , i'm just about done cleaning it.

Dude! Baller whitewalls!

So your engine mount wasn't fluid filled? I wish I could figure out which cars got the fluid filled ones and which didn't.

Keep up the good work

Fluid filled WTF??? At any rate the white walls are actually off my 95, they're mounted on steelies. The r/t rims and tires are on the 95 since I'm driving it for the time being

It's so weird to see what cars had them and which ones didn't. All I know for sure so far is that ATX doesn't use them, and SRT doesn't use them. But not all MTX's do either. MY ACR has it, but the R/T's don't? So odd.
