So it all begins a year ago this month, I will make it quick. My baby, a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab overheated severely. Its finally running again and almost ready to be back in service. I drive my work van during the day, and the wife drives her 2000 Neon, but plans to start driving MY BABY when its ready. Normally that'd be fine but I don't like where she wants to park!

Now, the plan is to upgrade the hell out of her Neon so she will like it as much as she likes my truck!

We bought it about 4 years ago pretty much as it sits now. I added the Ebay intake and thats it. It has been lowered a good amount and had the required fart can sticking out the back. Loud as hell, we are too old for that noisey crap, plus she actually got pulled over for it a few weeks ago!

Last night I disassembled the throttle body, cleaned it all up, modified the butterfly (knife edged and countersunk screws, etc) lubed up the bearings and put it all back in, and made some changes to the intake mounting.

Also took up the slack in the throttle cable, feels much better now. Today the project was the exhaust. After reading as much info as I could on exhaust, I bought a Chinese knock-off Flowmaster 40 series and a 2 ft Thrust glass pack. So far the muffler is installed and it already is quieter and more of a growl than a raspy sound. I think the Glass pack should quiet it down a little more.

The car is pretty much stripped down. We did add a nice deck and a 12" sub and amp, but thats its. Future plans include:

- Power windows
- Power locks
- tint windows
- Alarm system/remote start
- Power sunroof

Crush bent piping will suck a bit but im sure anything is better than that fart can. Looks good man, Dak looks pretty slick outside not so fond of the red interior trim though

Installed the muffler, much quieter, so much nicer! I have not yet put the glass pack in, what difference should I expect with that?

Tonight I cleaned up that chrome fart can and installed it in my 95 Astro Van work truck, hahaha. The 6 cylinder in it actaully sounds really good with that muffler!
