got a new toy today

Image

Unfortunatelly not autostick, but nice anyway

And together with this piece

Image

I will built a OBD-Cluster-Adapter (will get +, ground and PCI-Bus from the OBD) and try a PT Cruiser Cluster if I get one for cheap anytime.
Does anyone know, if two clusters connected with the PCM at the same time will work ??

Probably because kids here are so stupid they'd find a way to kill themselves in one and all the hardcore leftist people would blame the goverment and anyone else they could to have them banned.

They are in America. They are just not everywhere yet. At a car show we went to last year. They had them set up.
Drove my neon until it was killed in a flood.

Picked up our next donor/ project car today.

Black LE without trany and without engine.
We plan to either tear it apart as well as the silver or install the engine and the trany laying around.

Reason for breaking it up for the seller was a defective radiator followed by a broken 40TE as usual . . .

Recently the view back into my garden

and to the street

- Hope my next wish becomes true - to get a 00 LX with ripped timing belt - or an R/T. Hmm, can´t understand why my wife is so critical right now
But number one on her list had been done today: cut at least one wreck into pieces before you get the next . . .

You´re right. Even the subframe was in very good condition.
The black LE here has a lot more rust. Especially the rear left panel - like a lot Neons else here

Image

Image

I´m happy that my other two silvers don´t have that rust so far. For the subframe I urgently have to do something on my 2000 LE. Will watch under the 99 LX which I recently have bought, not at least I have to try to repair the engine as the timing belt is definitely gone.

After all these neons I think it is time to get to a new project - retaurating a lifter. I got one for cheap, but unfortunatelly laying in the dirt for years and with a lot of missing parts. It´s from 1977 and for 2.500 kg.
I had to derust and paint it, build a strong basement, make a place where I can work with it then and find all the smaller or bigger (and therefore more or less expensive) parts.

Image

Image

Image

Image

I had to get a new headplate with a bearing for one pillar, but there has been no original part available. So I bought an universal bearing and made a plastik-plate as a sample.

Image

Image

Two nuts - really special and quite expensive :banghead:

Image

Image

Data-plate of the motor

Image

and of the lifter itself

Image

Worn control-unit ( I have to build a new one)

Image

Image

Connectionbox of the motor. Fortunatelly my house has a 3phase connection.

Image

Lucky as I think I am, the motor is still running (just a test drive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZjUk3Co1fI
.
.
.
Damn, all parts are really heavy

Wired up a new controlbox last time

Image

Image

and finally finished (so far) today.

Looks pretty cool, I think I have to take a picture from the road when the neon is lifted up over the fence next time

Looks good! Can you build a roof or awning over it for good weather protection since it's outside?

yeah, would be a lot better. I think I will do something when I take the scrappy shed down sometimes. But unfortunatelly I need a building permit for those kind of things (or I have to do it stone by stone and especially in the dark  )

Damn - there is someone else collecting wrecks angry9:

But fortunatelly it seems not over here...

Though it looks like I have to be more busy to catch chipdog up

Here are some more pics from the outside.
Inside there are already a lot of parts missing, but most important - the engine is complete.

I'm just glad that you are finding them rather than Neons going to the crusher.
