Though she´s got not one wheel back on the road I got my next toy today - essential part for autostick mod

Image

Should direct fit, has been sold out of a neon...

Anyone any suggestions belonging the wiring ?
I checked out the diagram and think at least the shift up and down-cables are one thing, the wiring at the ignition another.

yeah - I do hope that I could get it functioning at the end.

Today I spent with disassembling a rear left knuckle and control arm at the junkyard for a buddy and by the way ripped off the ABS-wiring from rear to front.
Back home I have been rewiring the cabletree at the SXT.
Hopefully it won´t last too long now to get the engine running again soon.
As soon as everything is in stock condition and still working I begin modding her :D

progress today
fixed some rust at the a-pillar and looked where to install the wiring for the additonal side turnlights

Image

Image

installed the BUX-fenders with the side turnlights - pretty cool if you have a Bux-Cabletree with the needed wires

Image

Image

and noticed that the plug for horn1 is the same as for the side turnlights

Image

Image

Image

it really is - if somelike to let his horn "blink"

Image

headlight and crashbar

Image

Image

have to adjust hodd, fenders and headlights next time

Image

if someone likes to know how the third brakelight is mounted

Next time I really solder the turnlight-wires.

Nice to take a ride in the garden

Got my 1st 100 miles today with a testdrive-license and except for a burnt spark which made the engine running very bad she ran fine.

So I think it´s time to say - SHE´s BACK

Next work is to get a license for her, make the bushings, install cruise control, Autostick and ABS :tardbang:

Have installed the rearfoglight and moved the reverselight to an ugly cube temporarily for having space for the rear turn-signals.

Image

Image

Image

Today I spent with changing the control arm bushings.
Not really nice to do the work on the street, but it works
even if the bushings fall out by themselves.

But never thought the control arms could be as rusty as the were...

Else I have been collecting a kicker subwoofer and a SRT-leather-steering wheel for putting them on next time

Yes - it has been an option on the latest sold Neons here about 2003. Like some guys on this forum had done this mod and if I studied the wiring manual correctly it should not be the biggest problem. The TCM (Plug C3) has on PIN 26 the downshift signal, on 27 the upshift.
If I am not absolutely wrong it could be possible to get the autostick-function without the stick itself, but maybe with a switch at the steering wheel like the cruise control switch on the <03s :D

If I anytime had finished this mod I will post some pictures for sure.

I think all electronically controlled tranys should - so the 40TE and 41TE. On the NGC the TCM is included in the PCM and you´ll find the PINs for the up- and downshift there, but don´t really know if that will be directly working.
Unfortunatelly I only have a servicemanual incl. wiring for the 2000 and for 2002. The 2002 is just for NGC and the 2000 is for the 31TH so I don´t know whether the seperated TCMs on the 2001 41TEs will have that PINS or not.

Maybe anyone else have a wiring for those ?

Slightly off-topic but the build sheet for my '02 SXT had a space that said "Autostick" but it wasn't highlighted. I would assume that it would have been an option for all BUX 2GNs.

Have been lucky to have had test drive plates for the last two days and got her to the inspecting authority with them for finishing the approval process. It seems that it would last only a few more days and I will get regular license plates for her

Cruise control works fine, but I have been a bit confused first that the cluster only would show "cruise" and not "set" if it is set as my 2000 does. But anyway.

SRT leather steering wheel feels fine and the really next thing to fix seems to be the front discs/pads as I have a terrible jiggle while braking and less but noticable while accelerating.

If this is fixed and I got a few miles back for my invest so far, I will get on the autostick-thing.

Thanks guys

Yeah, almost every second day I see one or two (except my own  ).
A few years ago the people where looking quit more than today - had my first 2nd-gen 2002 and this time the neon had been more rare than today. But maybe with this silver machine and its for german cars unusual rear plate I´ll get more views :)

Now it´s time to take care about the autostick soon.

According to the wiring diagramma it should be a thing of that 4 wires only- red/wt from ignition key pos.2 to the shifter, black for ground from there and two more to the pcm/tcm for up- and downshift from the shifter. OK - the shifter itself.

Hope that the bad joggle while breaking will disappear with my new front brake kit, which has to get installed very soon now, too :D

And if that all is finished and working properly, I hope, that I could get the ABS installed next year.

Have some smoked sidemarkers and clk-style taillights laying around, which I plan to get on anytime anyhow.
