^What he said... you won't be able to get them through your dealer. IIRC a few dealers have some in stock but you'd have to deal with them directly and chances are if they have it it's because they ordered it for someone.

It will definitely look weird without the skirts. Either wait until you find some r/t skirts or buy the SRT fiberglass or carbon fiber replicas on ebay.

You could mount the front lip in the meantime.

just up by centennial. i'm fine with some r/t or srt skirts if the mopars
are hard to find. it doesn't bother me that they dont exactly match
just like the whole srt hood gap debate. its hardly noticeable. and i
would love to chill some time

whaaaaaaaaaat? i dont have $189 to spend on side skirts!
maybe i'll make some out of cardboard

i'll just sport the front lip until i get some skirts, and then
this progress log will probably be put to rest for christmas.
i'm gonna have to take out a loan to buy gifts..

rofl. Hate to break it to you, but if you don't wanna spend $200 on skirts, then I'd stop looking now... they don't come cheap. However, those reps used to be cheaper... like $200 SHIPPED.

really? ):
hopefully the junk yard could offer me a good deal, and i'll bring my
grandpa for military discount. if its still more than $100, i'll just rip
some off of some ones r/t or srt...
TheRandom1 wrote: I see dents as "damage" but that's it. Am I missing something?
well there's all the horrid dents, just about every part of the car has at
least 2 dents on it because the car was in a hail storm, the right front
of the chassis hit something like a curb hard enough to bend the corner
of the metal frame and crack open the washer fluid bottle, and when
we bought the car the guy told us someone took a sledge hammer to
one of the wheels.. thats why my wheels didnt match up. come to
think about it, i think the wheel well's splash guard is missing on the
right front end.. i'll post picture of more of the damage.

didn't carry the side skirts anymore.. got some touch up paint at least.
i've got no idea what im going to do about side skirts..

Spend 200+ on them or not get them. Pretty much your only two options...

That's what I was planning on going with, but I found some used R/T skirts I just bought instead.

I was the first one on here to buy those fiberglass ebay reps when they first came out, those are what are on my car. If i were you I would keep it up and continue searching the junk yards and for sale boards here. They do show up from time to time. I would say that used oem is always going to be better than the reps, although they can look nice if you work with them.

Phew! Good thing I bought my set when I did. $280 for a full lip kit + side skirts and an '02 R/T Rear exhaust section (cause I wanted "dual tips"). I hope you find what you're looking for man, and not have to settle on something crappier. I understand you're want to get the lip kit on too... it totally changes the car.

Good luck man. Car's comin along nicely

paint the valve cover... you can do it silver to match the rail or red for the battery... just options, but its pretty simple to do with some hi temp paint and a couple days...

pictures of damage as promised:

scratches, lots of chipped paint..
Image
underneath, same side.
Image
driver side quarter pannel
Image
driver side under the bumper
Image
apparently some kid kicked in the door, chipped some paint
Image
driver's side rear, previous owner backed into a brick wall.....
Image
back bumper, theres a dent in the trunk lid above this too..
Image
driver side threshold, last owner was a cowboy.. this is thanks to his
spurs.. he also dug a hole through the floor mat, but luckly it didnt
make it through to the floor carpet..
Image
this shit wont come off, and its annoying as hell
Image

my headlights are foggy, i'm tempted to just replace the whole front
bumper.. i'm getting a whole new door, hood, and possibly roof..
somewhere and eventually? im going to try dry ice on some of the
hail damage as well. i got some touch up paint from the dealer so im
going to go around the car and just fix up the little tiny dents. i need
some black wax to get rid of most of the tiny scratches too. hell, i just
need to sand and smooth the whole god damn car down and repaint it.
the previous owner obviously had no respect for this car or even knew
how to take care of it. im 17 and im doing a better job than him. since
i've owned this car, i havent done anything wrong to it. i've actually
raised its value..

cleaning up the car a little, i've gotten some compliments from kids at
school. i just used some touch up paint i got from the dealer, and could
have done a better job if i knew how to use the pen side but i didn't figure
it out until the job was done...

pictures:
Image
Image
Image
the lip kit will cover the rest of the scratch.
Image

im still considering replacing my whole front bumper. i might try to get
one with out fog lights too. these are just quick fixes until i can actually
get the dents and scratches removed, sanded down, and repainted.

also, im completely ready to buy this guy's side skirts, i told him i want
them and everything, but he takes forever to mail me back so im still
waiting on his reply to see if i've got side skirts or not yet..

i also had a friend fix my fog light harness so i'll soon have some fog lights.
i want to go with hid's in both my headlights and fog lights, but i know
little to nothing about both. next time i update this log will be with either
a new lip kit or headlights.

That touch up helped a ton. Good work! Try some Goo-Gone on the cluster. I had some weird stuff like that on one of mine, and it worked to get it off.

i'll try that goo gone stuff since i know we've got some laying around the

idea how to take it apart..

It's very easy. It's a couple screws (I think) and a few clips.

The dash pad has to pop up, there are a couple screws on the side that hold that down. Then pop off the lower part of the gauge cover off... maybe a screw or two plus some clips. Then just unscrew the gauges and pop them out. From there if you want to take the cover off, that's a few more screws.

Black duct tape will solve all problems.

Black to match the car, duct tape to attach it.

Depends. Do you want a shitty paint job that will crack/peel/fade in a few weeks, or do you want a job that's more quality do it the right way. I'd suggest not half-assing it.

i might see how much the dealer will do it for me or maybe some other local
body shops. i might just end up doing it on my own though.. wish me luck.

put it this way, if you half ass it, it will look like shit and you'll have wasted your time.

If you do it right it may or may not look good and you may or may not have wasted your time.

If you send it somewhere you WILL spend a good amount of money and it still may or may not look like shit and have wasted your time and money.

I'd try it myself unless you have someone you trust, personally.
