I'm sure that you're right- it is a seller's market.

Until the market is gone.

Kind of a risky move. How many people beside the handful of neon enthusiasts left are going to shell out that kind of money?

They might have those for a long time, then just toss them because they aren't moving.

My body shop guy thought that the one that I bought from Modern must have originally been rejected by Mopar due to the amount of sanding that he had to do to get the bumper finished properly. Modern promised that it would be shipped in a Mopar box but the box it came in had no Mopar markings on it whatsoever. Hmmm...

Wow! I just now noticed that Modern has again raised the price of their remaining front fascias- now asking $1,1199.99! I'm so glad that I bought mine last fall.

If I remember correctly Modern bought the remaining in bulk so It had to do with how they recieved them and that's why you didn't recieve a original mopar stamped box.

The box had concerned me but I ended up flattening and disposing of it since I delivered the old fascia to the eBay buyer myself rather than shipping it. Tthe real issue is the amount of prep my body shop guy had to do to have the fascia ready to paint. This is why he thought that it was probably initially rejected by Mopar. He has found this to be true with body parts from other manufacturers as well, that they keep the rejects until the end and them sell them in bulk. According to him, the trunk lid that I bought from Vintage arrived damaged and it took a lot of work on his part to make it fit my SRT.

A lot of work at the dealership on Thursday. Here is the list that I gave to my tech:

Remove front bumper to fix intercooler sprayer system blockage. Unless noted, please save all old parts and packaging. Customer provides parts.

1) Replace both sidemarker clips (5303412AB);
2) Replace passenger-side sidemarker lamp (L0000168) but don’t save old bulb;
3) Replace 4 intercooler sprayers (P4510923);
4) Replace inline water filter (P4510626);
5) Replace 1 way connector (PG8-6T);
6) Replace CAI air filter (77070011);
7) Replace both fog lights (5303482AF).

Transmission work- please save all old parts and packaging. Customer provides parts.
1) Replace 6030441 DS5 DDR PIN, Retainer, Clutch Tube Clip, Mounting;
2) Replace 5037340AA EDV DDR CYLINDER Clutch Master;
3) Replace 5037339AA EDV DDR CYLINDER, Clutch Slave;
4) Replace 5069199AA EDV DDR BOOT, Clutch Release Lever;
5) Reuse current 4670268 EDV DDR CLIP, Clutch Tube Mounting;
6) Reuse current 4668893AA DD5, DDR CLIP, Clutch Tube Mounting.

Additional work:
1) LOF- customer provides oil;
2) Replace 4777994AE oil pan gasket but don’t save old gasket;
3) Replace 6507711AA drain plug but don’t save old plug;
4) Check all fluids and top off if needed;
5) Lube front anti-sway bars (customer provides lube);
6) Replace both 5272324AC front sway stabilizer links (if necessary- don’t save old parts if new ones are installed);
7) Replace 5029422AB ISOLATOR, COWL FRONT (if the OEM one can be fixed, don’t use the new part).

This came to $1,383.11 for labor after the 5% coupon I downloaded from the dealership's website.

My tech said that the new 1 way connector is defective so he reused my old one. Also, he was able to salvage the OEM Isolator, cowl front so I'll save the new one for when I have the engine compartment repainted sometime in the future. And the front sway stabilizer links didn't need to be replaced so I'll hang onto the new ones as well.

I'll be posting up the old saved parts on eBay soon. Unfortunately, some paint has begun to chip off the new bumper so I'll have to take it back to the body shop for repair.

Ever thought about the clear paint protection film? You could always have it installed on the front bumper alone.

I had that on the last bumper, installed by Ziebart years ago. In fact, the Ziebart PPF is still on the hood and part of both front fenders but it has yellowed and looks terrible. I think that the body shop didn't use enough of the chemical added to the paint to allow it to flex. When I take the car back to the body shop next year for hood repainting, I'm going to have to have the bumper redone as well. I did buy a steamer with the thought of removing the hood PPF myself- we'll see how that goes.

The mileage on my car. I had tranny work done at the Missouri dealership several years ago and the master and slave were supposed to have been replaced at that time since the transmission was out of the car but they were somehow missed. Since Mopar has discontinued the parts, I decided to get them before none were left. I'm glad that I did when I did as there are no more to be found from what I have heard.

The part number for the door pull cups screw caps is 0LB57XDV. Probably discontinued as well.

UPDATE: Ryan graciously gave me the parts at Carlisle. Thanks again!

I've tried to take a few trips, here and there. I missed a neons.org meet in Dayton, OH last Sunday due to lack of funds. I'll change the auto insurance to garage coverage only around November 1st and then the car hibernates during the winter.

Wouldn't you know... I have an a.m. appointment tomorrow to have the SRT worked on at the Dodge dealership in town but the forecast is now calling for snow and rain sprinkles. I'll stick my head out in the morning and, depending on what the weather is doing, I may have to reschedule the work for next spring.

I was right, no work on the SRT today. I used my appointment to have my mother's 300 worked on instead. My tech replaced the multifunction switch but the the clockspring broke as I was leaving the parking lot at the dealership. I still have to cancel turn signals manually. I found a clockspring from an eBay seller since Mopar discontinued the part some time back (just like parts for my Neon!) and I have to take the Chrysler back on December 3rd.

OMG! NO bids yet and only at $2k? Seeing some past postings of these for sale thru here, I'd thought yours would start out 10x the price.

SAY THIS POSTING OF YOURS IS NOT SO !!!!!!!!!

No, the asking price is NOT $2K, just the opening bid. No way would I let this car go for such a small amount.

No, I didn't sell the SRT. I had two so-called potential bidders harass me about the listing so I pulled it last Friday. One of them even contacted me through my private email address (NOT available through ebay!) so I thought that enough was enough.

No. I never thought this day would come. The day you try to sell your srt4.
All I can say is yours is about one of the cleanest ones left. Should fetch a good fair amount of money.

I appreciate your compliment about the condition of my SRT. As to how much money it will fetch, this remains to be seen. No one on this site has made an offer, AFAIK.
