The 7/70 ran out last May but the battery is still under warranty. I had discharged the one that came with the car so the one I currently have is a newer Mopar replacement from March of 2012. I used my new tool kit to remove the current battery (after first removing the new strut brace that was installed in October ), put it in the Subaru, and drove to the dealership. The service manager wanted to know the odometer reading for warranty purposes and, since the car had been without power since October, I couldn't give that to him without first having some juice. If it doesn't hold a charge until I get the insurance covereage again come spring, he said that I could just carry the old battery in and he would do the warranty paperwork for the exchange then (the parts manager already has a new one on order for me). I already have plans for service when the weather clears up so this should probably work out.occasional demons wrote:IIRC, the warranty ran out last summer.
BTW, the service manager agreed with everyone on the forum; considering my track record with batteries, I will have to buy a tender before next winter.
