occasional demons wrote:IIRC, the warranty ran out last summer.
The 7/70 ran out last May but the battery is still under warranty. I had discharged the one that came with the car so the one I currently have is a newer Mopar replacement from March of 2012. I used my new tool kit to remove the current battery (after first removing the new strut brace that was installed in October

), put it in the Subaru, and drove to the dealership. The service manager wanted to know the odometer reading for warranty purposes and, since the car had been without power since October, I couldn't give that to him without first having some juice.

If it doesn't hold a charge until I get the insurance covereage again come spring, he said that I could just carry the old battery in and he would do the warranty paperwork for the exchange then (the parts manager already has a new one on order for me). I already have plans for service when the weather clears up so this should probably work out.
BTW, the service manager agreed with everyone on the forum; considering my track record with batteries, I will have to buy a tender before next winter.

It's an inexpensive mod, but probably gonna be tough to not support China on this one. :/

^^Yeah, I know.

When everyone first started to suggest that I buy one (several seasons back- why didn't I listen then?

), the Amazon listings for Deltran ones had "Made in USA" on their logo stickers but the newer ones are (of course) all foreign-made.

Thanks guys. It isn't as clean as I had hoped- I really wanted to make the smallest cuts in the material as possible. I ended up cutting one of my fingers with chipdogg's box cutters in the process- I am such a butterfingers.

Better your finger than something like... let's say the seat back.

Part one (of several) arrived today. The rest of the parts will be picked up Saturday morning. Installation will hopefully be before Carlisle. This is all I'm saying right now.

You've been busy creating a RWD, Hemi-powered SRT-4. My Progress Log is pretty humble compared to that!

Finally finished replacing the front two weather strips today, still have to order ones for the rear doors. I've had the driver's front belt moulding new in the box for several years but still need to buy the remaining three and then have all four installed.

Plans for the 26th have been postponed. Now hope to have things complete before Carlisle.
