Grabbed this for a steal today after work...

I wanted to install the g35/350z muffler but it looks like alot modding to make it fit perfect so decided to look for the obvious solution.. Going try to install it this weekend after we go jyarding on half off sale..

Looking to grab a 2.4... Crossing fingers..
2000 2.4L Turbocharged Neon (The Monster)
2005 5.7L Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee (SRT8 Clone)

2005 5.7L Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee (SRT8 Clone)

Had plans on finishing the hood today but half off weekend at the jyard and black friday/cyber monday killed alot of time..
Managed to epoxy one of the vents down..

Placed duct tape over the sides to keep it down and from blowing crap in it.. Crazy ass weather down here in Texas...
Its finally official.. The Nurple is going 2.4L.. I was suppose to grab a 2.4 this weekend but decided to hold off til next half off sale..
Grabbed some of the swapper stuff today though..

*PT Oil Pan with Filter Adapter
*PT Lower and Upper Alt. Brackets
*PT Water Pump Outlet
*PT Hard Coolant Lines
*PT Stock Header
*1gn DOHC Intake Manifold
Have more parts coming in..

Quick update.. Gona start over on the vented hood project cuz the pass. side vent won't line up and match the drivers.. I'm reall picky with this type of stuff and I like it to be somewhat perfect..
On the good note, I'll be making a template to use so that I can get both vents lined up to match on the purple stocker hood.. Plan on atleast cutting the holes out and glueing them in on Sunday if the weather is on my side..
After that done, I'll be modding this to work on the stock 00 rear bumper..

The exhaust holes are almost 2" off from the SRT exhaust which isn't a big deal.. Going get the bumper fabbed up with the diffuser then have the exhaust shop move to pipes to line up and possibly change out the tips..
We'll see soon..

I have been following your progress on the forum. I did't see a progress log but you have been very detailed and thorough. What type of suspension? Coils or springs?

After reading this whole thread, I was inspired to go to the local Junk yards. I was off today and visited two in San Jose, CA. They didn't have much but I did get an AC directional blower I needed and wanted to get a new dash top (mine is cracked bad). Wasn't really sure if the 02 would mate up to my dash. I think it might though. I also could not get the damn think off of the donor car. I read on the forum you just pull up and out, but I didn't want to ruin it so If anyone knows how to get them off help a brother out.
Now I saw a great way for newbies (like me) to learn how to work on their own car just like the "god" in this thread. At pick a part you get to bring your tools and just simply take sh*t off, if you don't want it you just leave it there. Upside is you get to see your part disassembled and hopefully this takes away much of the fear we all have about working on our car and breaking something. I ordered my bushings for my shifter a week ago and now I have actually seen the naked shifter and the bushings and played with it (no comments plz) and now I am sure I can put those boogers on. So just like Z3 make a visit to your friendly local Junk Yard and have at it.

Silver-shadow: Thanxs bro... Really appreciate you for taking the time to look over my lil p.o.s. I wish I could influence more to get up and have some fun but I can only do so much
..
The top dash are all the same through 2000-2005 dodge, plymouth, and chrysler.. They're are 4 screws that hold it to the lower dash.. 2 on the ends near the door jams and 2 in center defrost vent (one on each side).. You'll need a stubby philips to get to them due to the location and windshield..
Believe it or thats where I learned how to take apart the car piece by piece and where I get majority of my crazy ideas from.. It keeps me busy and definitely out of trouble.. I try to hit the yard every weekend cuz you never know what you might find out there..
If you get a chance, check out my other progress thread thats about my other 2000 neon... Its about 50 some pages long but it shows you ALOT more than in this one..
