Looking good brother and good to see its coming together so nicely. Grab a can of VHS high temp exhaust paint and make sure to give the welds on the exhaust a nice coat or two to keep me from rusting out on ya

Also where's that shiny new cluster?!? Lol

Sorry to say D-railed, but im trading your cluster for an 03 RT. I like it but the ebrake light wont go off and has done effect on me, lol. BUT, I do appreciate it and will take pis of the swap when dave and I meet up.

And very good call on the spray, I completely blanked on that! Back to the store, lol.

Aw sad panda now.... Oh well lol. I was worried about it being an 02 cluster in a NGC but as long as it gets put to good use I won't loose too much sleep over it

lol, its a deal i couldnt refuse. BUT, I did get those blue leds you sent me in the link. It will be sexy, lol.

So, after borrowing a friends dremel with couple bits....I didnt do crazy porting, was more trying to smooth out for the flow. Had rough edges that needed to get grinded down, widened I little bit towards the top, then polished at the end. I think it came out good for my very first attempt at doing little machine work. (before it looked like a tube in a tube...huge ring around inside

Now I really cant wait to get this thing on, hopefully soon after I have my friend weld in the high flow cat.

That looks freaking sharp bro. We're you able to clean up the merge collector at all? And you will live the blue LEDs. Heads up though, you get what you pay for so, don't be surprised if they start to go out after three months but, what do you expect for 6 LEDs shipped for 10 bucks lol. My next set will be through superbrightleds.com

Keep up the good work bro this is really starting to come together

I didnt do any grinding, tool too big for that and my hand to see what im doing. But i did get to polish it, but the merge didnt look bad at all.

Also the leds, surprised. LEDS at my store have a life time warranty, true leds are never suppose to break.

after I showed it off for a bit, I realize I left some dips....not 100% smooth, but alot better than it was. It was fun, wish that was a trade I did in school.

Oh, look what I got in the mail today with the window crank I order'd. Thanks fattycrack

So after having this happen to me: Link
RobsProjectSOHC wrote:I took the valve cover off, found this little information. Is this the cause?

Link: http://youtu.be/2uRZjSuVLAo (might still be updating, uploading as i type this)

The head had tons of oil when i picked up the cover, just this seemed odd to me. Up and down i know is a problem, side to side?

Problem was....two noises. Head was one, fixed when I tapped the bolt back together for one of the lifters, bottom end was making noise (says the mechanic). 1500$ later, newer bottom end, new clutch I got put in for free, and Daves RT cluster....the car is back in action!

Okay, so first 100 miles. Shifting into first and sometimes second can be a major bitch. Even revving it up and trying to put it in doesnt work that great. Doesnt do all the time, just at those moments..lol. Normal wear in the clutch thing or?

Also a have an 03 RT Cluster...ABS light and ebrake light is on. ABS Light turns on after the car runs for a second or two then stays on..ebrake all the time. idk.

Vacuum gauge soon, going to make usual of the triple gauge pod. Getting rid of the light up pedals. Would like to get some exterior/interior work done while i break the engine in for 500-1000 miles. Havent gone above 3.0-3.5k.

Pics and vids soon. - Sorry for not being very active...didnt have the car for over a week, stayed at friends house with no internet. phones not fun.

First thing on the list for tomorrow...also gotta fix these leds i put in the cluster. two dont light up, had to drive home with the cell phone light up on the dash, kinda funny. Thanks for the tip

yup. it is just a small adjustment screw off the clutch pedel to the master cyl rob. just adjust that so you have alittle more throw...

and check to see if your car has abs. if the plug is unpluged like the speedo was then that could be as simple as that.

by RobsProjectSOHC
Where could that plug be?
I adjusted the pedal yesterday, that was mostly the problem. Just a few more tweaks and it should be good.

Hey everyone, very busy over the summer. Our company beat a record that they had planned in 2003 and never expected to make it. 17 stores then, 10 now and we made it. So its been crazy work work work.

Updates: Car runs smooth, running p0440 and 1681 code. Im going to be switching out the cluster....thinking because abs and ebrake light on its throwing me the 1681 code. p0440, ill get a new gas cap.

What I have now -
New Tailights (very easy fit/replacement)
Image
Image

SAFC 2
Image

After spending 1500$ on a bottom end I didnt want but needed, I wont be turboing any time soon. Really bummed my ambition on the car. (Mechanics didnt even put my AEM Cam gear back on, b*tches). Wish dave did it instead.

Projects before winter ends-
Head Lights, Exhaust, SAFC, Speaker System, and if time left over I would like to do Bumper/Fogs.

Project after winter -
Paint job.

Hope you enjoy the tails, think they look bad ass.

Alright all....im not sure about your neons, but my car likes to give me problems during winter. Been a constant fix fix fix situation. I can see summers around the corner though, its getting there...just tiring of the wait as we all know. Im anxious to get back, for now im just going to show pics of some parts, nothing special yet. Will be buying a new bumper, adding some sideskirts, might plasti dip the whole car a matted black/blue...see how it goes when summer hits, when the money starts coming in.

So now im done with the mods in the engine, im going to put the battery back up front, out of the trunk and build around. For now the power line in my trunk is close to speaker wire, so i can hear the rev in my speakers...ziiiiiiiiinggggg. Still sounds good.

Audio: Pioneer Set up (Copied and pasted)
Pioneer DEH-P7400HD Mobile CD Receiver with HD Radio and MIXTRAX

Pioneer GM-6500F 4-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier (760watt)

Pioneer TS-A6994R A-Series 6"x9" 5-Way 600 Watts (quick shot)
Image
Image
Pioneer TS-A1684R A-Series 6 1/2" 4-Way 350 Watts
(hidden in the door anyway, why take a pic?)

Also, very excited about this upgrade....the exhaust.
Exhaust System: Stock Header, Magnaflow Direct Cat Downpipe, 2.5" Catback Piping. Gotta say i bought the ebay header, didnt fit...was bent. Other than that, this car breathes so much better and I could feel how restricted it was compared to now. Necessary in my opinion.

(waiting for warmer weather to take vid....remember this is just a tease post)

Next up - Suspension
Set up will be:
SRT Struts with Eibach Sportlines
Image
And yes, that is the Prothane Bushings Kit. Going to need some sway bars in the future.
Rage A5 16"x7 40mm offset
Image
Tires ordering friday will be: 205/50R16 (unless some one knows a better size before I order) Hankook Ventus V2 Concept H437
Once I receive the tires and mounts/bellow tube so i can make it more of a direct swap, it will be on. Excited for it.

Almost forgot, I installed Maddog STS 72% with MPx Shift knob (Pics soon). Can't stop banging those gears. Goes good with the Booger bushings and JM Cradle Bushings.

Other things I've done:
-New gas cap (i just now started getting engine code when its past due inspection...idk whats next. p0440 only)
-Rear Wheel bearing/hub assembly. (Ever since i got my car back from local garage...its been problems ever since. hoping when i replace the struts i can better see the problem)
-Oil Catch Can installed
-Ground Wires upgraded to 8g Wire
-Blue LED Instrument Cluster (pics when i had no engine code..for once)
Image

Planned for summer:
-Struts/Springs & Rims on
-DYI LED 3rd Brake Light
-CLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN
-Headlights
-Body parts / Paint

Gotta say I love what the car has become. Its very snappy when I need to to be. Once I get the suspension on, I will take 0-100 vids.

Oh yeah, for the tails pic...dont have one with brake on, but lights up crazy...sometimes i think its a cop behind be because they are so bright.

Honestly i've been typing a review for awhile on this thing and i just couldnt think anything positive, except the only way Mixtrax is good is for playlist. songs you dont wanna skip through so the songs will blend together. I usually skip shuffle in my ipod with no playlist. I'll make vids when the snow is gone to give you a better review.

I can't really give a good sound review because i can hear the cars rev in the speakers, unless i crank pink floyd solos....cant hear it then.

DAAAAAAAAAAMN! Nicely done sir! This thing is coming along soon badassidly (yeah its a word.........) in the same boat about the weather bro. My car needs exhaust work bad as it leaks at the collector but once I get it done I'll do a 0-100 run at the motorplex and shoot it over to you if you want to compare. Until then this ride is getting a-sweet! Keep up the good work
