FUCK ME, BOOST IS THE BEST THING EVER.
Picked up my car tonight. Right now it's tuned up until 5k rpm at 5lbs, for the first 1000km. Still fun as hell!I will post pictures and video (maybe) tomorrow. Need to change the oil first thing, and then clean some stuff up.
After a whole year of working my ass off and putting any extra penny I had into this build (after putting away for school and other savings of course) and also working anywhere from 60-80 hours a week, it's almost done
This week I'm going to get quoted on new boost piping and fix the exhaust/put in the ecutout. So the car still needs some work, but it's driving

My front end is SUPER high, it's really starting to piss me off. But right now my charge pipe is about 1-1.5" off the ground

I had to go meet up with Nick St. Clair in Barrie for a dogbone bolt, plus I just felt like cruising. 10am on Monday morning I pretty much forced a BBQ at his place and a bunch of us showed up. After, a few of us cruised up to Midland (I had to pick up parts). It was a fucking awesome day!eviltucson wrote:where was the meet Kevin? looks like a great turn out for a Weds. I lowered the front 1/4" tonight, can't really go much lower until I fix/replace my charge pipe which is currently damn close to touching the ground. Raised the rear 3/4" to even out the gap, but the front still has about a half inch more gap then the rear fuck it, not doing all that again, leaving it where it is for now.
Was supposed to go to a local meet tonight, but rain cancelled it so I just took some driveway shots of the car.
New coolant overflow, to replace the pop can LOL
My engine bay is a complete disaster, I know

And that silver dart in the picture above is SLAMMED!
thanks!
NO NO NO, I'm scrapping the whole teal thing. I'm really regretting it :/ I'll probably go all black/gunmetal with some polished pieces (rad shroud, coil pack heat shield, and trani cover)slaw wrote:That intake manifold would look great in that teal color

There was a dyno day today that I wasn't planning on going to because of work, but decided last minute to go anyways.
Only pushed it to 7000rpm, but you can see it wanted to keep going. Still running off the wastegate spring, which is a half bar (7.25lbs). I obviously have a boost leak somewhere because I'm getting between 5-6lbs.
I'm pretty happy with my numbers though roughly 80hp gain from less than 6lbs. LOTS of potential

Talk to "NGCnoproblem" his is NGCakirony wrote:Whoa. Holy torque numbers batguy. I really want to get a pre NGC 2nd gen to boost now. I want my NGC boosted but it looks easy for preNGC. Great numbers and still more torque than a honda!
I was really happy to hit 200, that was what I was thinking/wanting to get. I was hoping to see a little more torque though. I'm planning on upping the boost within the next week (maybe two weeks)

Hey man i had the same grind over 4500, broke my crossover cable a week after it started on a 1-2 shift. replaced both cables, no more grinds, Check the junkyard first, fuckers are over 300 from the dealer. Sucks they are pricey, but it was better then a dead trans for sure. Hopefully that's all it is,
New Sig Time.
Well.. 3 weeks/2000km later and it's over.
Was at the track yesterday and the car hit 21lbs, while my buddy was driving it. BOOM. Luckily he lived semi-close by and had a spare RT longblock sitting at his house. By 5am the car was up an running again.
Looked at everything this morning, and the rod bolts weren't torqued to spec. (the one thing I had done by a "professional shop" so I wouldn't face this problem)
Going over my options tomorrow and making a decision soon:
- rebuild sohc (FUCK THAT)
- 2.4turbo swap
- just go buy an SRT
Pictures are taking forever to upload, I will post them shortly.
