It was functional for the past 3ish months... but I started to really like the whole "roof rack swag" thing, so I may take it off and put it on from time to time. Maybe I'll actually use it over the summer

So I got a bike attachment for my roof rack!

Image

Image

but my buddy didn't do the best job putting his bike in... and as I was driving "CLUNK" followed by "FUUUUUUCCCKK" sure enough his bike came off the tracks. the tires were still stopped in so it only fell to the side. I didnt grab a pic because I was preoccupied making sure the bike came off and went on properly + looking over my car for dents/scratches. All there is, is a couple small dents and scratches in my passenger B pillar and a scratch on the window :/ Shitty, but could be WAY worse so I'm okay with it.

Image

I decided that I'm going to just fill in the small dents and then wrap the pillars in that 3M Di-noc carbon fibre stuff. My pillars are mostly faded anyways like most neons. Orded 12" x 48" of the stuff last night, just waiting for it to come to my door. I can't afford the CBD ones :/ and the "pre-cut" ones don't wrap around the whole pillar and so they don't look very good. Hopefully it ships fast so I can get it done, I hate looking at dents -__________-

Image

bought motor mount inserts from MP back in october.. never got around to putting them in. So I did the top one today, then got lazy and didn't do the bottom  maybe next year....

Also, another fresh oil change yesterday! still runs like a champ for 287 xxx km

I'm actually liking the roof rack... I have two bikes and I'm definitely up for the idea of adding a rack. How is it mounted, and is it something you can easily remove and replace? How much did you pay for yours?
Drive it like you stole it, and work on it like you married it.

The main rack goes on and off really easily (less than 5 mins?)! I take it off roughly once a week to wash the car properly. the bike and the ski/snowboard attachments come off fairly simple too (10ish minutes?)

How it attaches:
Image

Image

Image

^ as you can see the cover/lock comes off and thats how you can adjust how tight it is to the car. If you look at the actual bar you can see numbers, thats how you adjust how far apart the brackets are so that it fits your car.

Image

all the attachments that you can buy seem to all be set up like this. They clamp onto the main bar.. pretty simple.

The cost:

I went with the cheaper brand, SportRack (minus the fairing)

main roof rack: $280
fairing: $90
ski/snowboard: $120
bikes (2): $125

that's all canadian $ + taxes

went to go put in the bottom motor mount insert on the weekend and looks like the mount is done anyways :/ so I'm picking up a newer one sunday at a meet.

Image

got bored today and decided I was going to black out the purple plaid stuff.. until my buddy talked me into a red/black checker pattern.. sure enough this is what I did.

old pattern, beside new fabric

Trunkless!

Image

I took off the spoiler to see what it would look like.. I love it! but I don't have plugs and the paint isn't the best under the spoiler so it's back on.

Image

No roof rack vs roof rack

Image
Image

my new (used) mount with the insert in. I should be putting this in on thursday..

Image

got the 3M stuff today so I ended up doing 3/4 B pillars. I didn't have a chair or stool so I used two stands and a piece of scrap wood

photobucket is being stupid and won't cooperate so pictures will be added later

put the lower mount in, much better now. I don't feel any extra vibrations or anything though like people said, but that's a good thing I guess then!

changed out my filter, just bought a new one instead of cleaning the other one

oh and i bought a set of BC's... :D:D:D:D

I'm not one to keep things a secret, I get too excited :P but looks like the plan is Johny and I will have a "lowering party" in a few weeks and do both our cars at the same time. As long as everything goes according to plan that it.

I want to be LOW.
