Project F150

Post by JRM » Tue May 08, 2012 1:35 pm

Well, I said I wouldn't modify it but I got a small bite. I don't have any stock pictures.
Bought the truck in Feb 2011 with 220,xxx miles

First mod October 2011: new tires...

Next got a new tool box (FREE)

And finally painted the stock chrome bumpers with spray on bed liner:

Nice truck. I see you went with some Treadwright's (?) for the tires. How do you like them?

It's amazing how long those F-150's can stay on the road mileage wise and still be good as new.

Yep good eye on the treadwrights, no complaints so far. Have about 10,xxx miles on them atm, and with one rotation at 7,500 miles they seem to be showing very little signs of wear.

I bought the truck from a company that used it as a service vehicle, so all of it's miles are documented highway miles with monthly service records. It's been a great truck so far, no other real plans for mods in the future besides routine maintenance.

Looks good for a truck, let alone a F150. :P Mostly be highway miles... 230k + on a 06!? Damn.

Nice truck, aye. I'm a Chevy guy myself but I ended up buying myself a F150 as well. I'm enjoying the comfort but I miss my neon.

The day I got it......

And now. Just cosmetic upgrades. Not trying to make it fast.

Yep, all my mods are cosmetic as well. Sort of an "antibling" I hate all of the factory shiny chrome. Thinking about spraying the rocker panels with bedliner as well.

I'm old skoo so I love chrome. But I can appreciate antibling look. I rocked that look for a minute and loved it.....

I saw an episode of West Coast Customs where they sprayed an entire Toyota Tundra in bedliner. Now that was a sick look.

If this was a weekend mudder I would probably go that route, not on my DD though.

I had a Jeep on 33's that was primer black and I must say it does fit the offroader look very well.
