^ Ya the rings slid in after i sanded down the inside of the cluster part a little bit but other than that a great fit. and i do have the chrome handles i need to get some pictures up of all of the "Leather" door with handles.

I like the seven spokes too the problem is they are skinny and too small for my taste. i really want to do the Seabring 16" with a decent width tire on it. that way it keeps a factory like look with more size and style.

Aaahhh... good. Thanks for the info on the gauge rings. :)

And yes, I see your point about the 7-spokes. 16 inch wheels would definitely make a difference. Good choice, looking forward to seeing that.

here are some of the later pics that got deleted in the reboot. sold it a few months ago to drive my wifes old shitty civic(newer than the neon) because its more "reliable"

Miss this neon daily while on my commute... the civic isnt nearly the same level of fun or quickness(neither can be considered fast) and i really miss driving a 5-speed

On the brighter side of this all, i sold it to a kid who seemed thrilled to have it so hopefully he finds this place and keeps the thing alive

Yeah, some people ended up falling into the "I'm going to drive my Neon until I don't drive my Neon anymore", which is the parent of the until it dies club.

Speaking of which, I need to put my "...until it dies" number back in my signature!

Have you figured out a replacement vehicle yet?

Right now I'm leaning to a Q50S. i like the newer as you can get a Turbo 3.0L v6 and rear wheel drive. problem being that i want a specific color that has only been out a few years so they are a little pricey still. so as a cheaper backup I'm looking at the Mazda6 with the possibility of waiting to get the turbo 2.5 that they are releasing now. the 6 feels pretty similar to the neon in overall feel, so i really like that aspect but i also want some real power... which the Infiniti has with 300HP

we have about 6 months left on a student loan for my wife, then let the cash build a little for a hefty down payment before i pull the trigger. i have been test driving cars on my half days on fridays for a few months now to get the feel for all the different cars.

The Q50 is a really nice looking car, as is the new Mazda6. The Infinity will definitely be more fun overall, but the savings with the 6 will allow more room for mods. I think either of them would make a great DD.

227hp seems weak to me, although 310lb-ft should feel great in a daily driver. As long as they continue to offer it with a manual transmission, the Mazda6 will always be my favorite mid-size.

I heard they got rid of the manual option for the new turbo motors. How fucked up is that?

the q50 is nice looking and fast. the main thing I'm looking for is something that has rear space and comfort without looking huge(See Toyota Camry) one downfall to the Q is that it takes premium gas.. which ups the normal operating costs dramatically i commute 60 miles a day.. i like the 6 as it reminds me of the neon but grown up and modern. but it is fun to drive and feels good. plus as you said Jeremy more money for mods! the HP on the 6 really isnt a slouch.. it is by no means really fast but it has that "quick" attribute to it i would say. unfortunately, manual is a no go on the next one... wife "wants to be able to drive it" that will have to wait till i get a fun project car later on in life....

I think they would have had a killer car if they had done as the accord and added the uprated engine with a stick... car and driver shit their pants trying to give it every award.. lol

i may wait it out longer and see how it all goes with the turbo 6 but if im buying used which i most likely will that would be a long wait....

so new option on the list for those that follow...

17 Volvo S60 R design with polestar

test drove it a few months ago.. its a 17 and still on the lot so if it sticks around i may be able to work some serious deals on it when i get serious about buying.... turbo and supercharged I4 AWD and really nice seats.. i think the wife would really like this one as its a Volvo and it would be safe, i would like it because it was fun comfortable and has 316HP

anyone have experience or history on volvos? new or old? liked the V60 wagon too but she shot down the wagon idea

I have no personal experience, but I really dig them. I think the Polestar versions are pretty bad ass.

Nice cars. But for me, the C30 is really the only one I'd consider, purely for the inline 5 and 6-speed combo. It's basically as close to a euro-spec Focus ST as you can get in the US.

I like the C30s too but i need 4 doors unfortunately. but they do have the older S60s with the turbo I6 i believe in the r-design. they would be more cost effective too.

no the polestar versions are badASS! i want one of them but there isnt many out there for sale at least in blue...

Also i test drove the Alfa Romeo Giulia last week... man ... i really like it.. but they are high one the prices, dont have any local with the options i would want(lsd, blue sport) and the back seat is really, really small.... but its a 2.0t RWD sedan and they look pretty nice IMO... its on the list so we shall see what happens....
