And I'm currently looking at getting a dual gauge pillar pod to remove my frog eye pod. I've come to hate my frog eye pods.
Why do you hate the frog eye pods?? They're fine. You can see your gauges plenty clearly in the shot below:

Well recieved my dual pillar pod piece. Test fit just to get an idea of what it will look like.
Hoping to install it and have both gauges moved over soon. I'm going to love the pillar pods.

I had that pod in one of my old Neons. It made for a bit of a blind spot, but it wasn't terrible. It didn't take long to acclimate to it. I actually like the look of the frog pod better, but I can see how it would block the other gauges a bit. That could get annoying, having to tilt your head to read behind them.

In my old 2gn I had a triple one. Talk about blind spot. Haha.

I already screwed it on there and have been driving around with it in to get a feel for it. It's not so bad. But that's without gauges there drawing my attention.

Im going to love it tho. Even with the frog eye pods I still have to tilt my head to read the boost or wideband gauge which sucks.

Looks like the same pod I've had in the Daytona for over 10 years now. You get used to it pretty quick.

And here we are. I decided to just screw it on and paint the pillar to match. Didn't feel like doing the custom mold it make it look one piece. Forget all that.

I ripped out so much old wiring. Redid the wiring and all is good.

I already love this setup. Much easier to view the 2 gauges.

I think it looks good as is. Molding it would be a waste of time.

Thanks Gramps.

All you non fb users and people who didn't attempt Carlisle don't know about these yet I bet. Hell I don't think Jason even posted about it on Fb.

But Jason was making these and the one I'm going to picture are magnets, he can do pins etc. He had many designs, plenty of other decals as well. At Carlisle he said he was going to be updating the 2gn store to be able to purchase trough it but I don't know how long that will be.

Also the 1gn.org thing came about because someone on Fb asked if they could have the 1gn.org font as a 2gn one. Something like that. And since the 1gn.org does exist previously but long dead now Jason made all kinds of 1gn.org items. He even had a 1gn.org banner at Carlisle to raffle off.

Anyways here is 3 little buttons I bought and I want to get more as he has plenty different kinds.

And a nighttime picture of my gauges. They are not distracting at night. In fact it's better, the frog eye pod drew my attention more therefor distracting me.

This is probably it for the year as far as little mods goes. I want to be able to get her up on the dyno but I doubt I have time to do that by end of summer.

Other little mods I want to do is replace the entire carpet for a new one.
Finish converting the interior panels to black.
And I still need a srt4 rear seat to match.Image

Shiney gauges. You plan on doing your cluster with LED's?

And yes the dual is better then the frog eyed ones. Keep your eyes on the road better with them there.

I deleted and reuploaded a better pictureof the gauges from my last post. I didn't have my camera setting correct on my phone which is why they appeared shiny.

Maybe in the future I'll use LED bulbs in the gage cluster. But at the moment I love the stock lighting.

Happy new years to the neon family still out here posting keeping the forum alive. Image.

Heres just 2 small things I've done recently.
1 is a new fuel rail cover.
2 is fixing my sagging front bumper. It's higher all around even up front.

That is all for now. Don't know yet what changes I'll make this year to the ol neon. Maybe finally finish my interior overhaul. Like new carpet, blacken the headliner. ImageImage

plan on painting that fuel rail cover like black or red? Looks out of place being silver. Could just be the angle but when I first glanced at the picture it looks like someone just layed a flat piece of aluminum over the fuel rail. Could just be the rectangular cutout of it. dig the ACR cutout/decal though! Glad your 1st gen is still runnin! Is it running good?

Possibly black with having the letting in red to match the valve cover you know.

Yes the engine is running great and better then ever. I still don't abuse the car nor drive it much so it should stay running great for a while at least haha.

Small update.

I was lucky enough to find me a 1gn ipp srt hood. It's carbon fiber but obviously it's had a terrible life. Guy was going to put it on his dirt car. Thank God we saved it from that life.
My plans with it are to fix it up because yes it has imperfections. And paint it to match the car.

This is 1 of 2 things the car is getting this year. 2nd thing being some wheels sometime this year.

I love the vents. Air is going to hit directly on the intake manifold/valve cover area. ImageImageImage

Too bad it's in rough shape. A carbon hood would look great on that car. Paint matched will still look good, though.

Right. I never liked carbon fiber anyways. Not on a hood at least. Now carbon fenders I do love. Which is why I could never see myself paying full price for a hood condition carbon hood and then painting it to match. This was stupid cheap and worth it.

Hood pins are recommended … the hood catch is not as strong as one welded to a steel hood … looks good on your car :gears:

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of the latch not being as strong. Now I have to question everything. I really didn't want to run hood pins. Yes I know they make nice hood pins these days but man. Image
