35% tint would be very complimenting. .. (since you are unsure) is not too light and not too dark

So that's where that car went. Glad it went to you, instead of the other person that "was" going to buy it!

I too have a former "Ian" 1gn Coupe. Unfortunately, mine was not a direct buy, and seen nothing but abuse & neglect from the time it left his possession.

Someday, I'll get around to updating my PL on it...

Clean and simple ride! Having no PS and AC with a battery relocated to the trunk really makes those engine bays look nice. Dont forget the 3.0 intake under the list of mods!

I just had my tint done on my 1gn coupe. I did 20% in the back and legal 35% up front. Looks nice and keeps the car cooler since the car didn't come with AC from the factory.
Congrats on the marriage too man!

Yeah im off work this weekend, im going to see if the tint guy can get my car in on saturday if not then next weekend. i think the darkest anyone around here goes is 30% which i want.

yeah are you talking about the guy who claimed he had bought it but never actually did and was all talking about it like it was his lol. shoo u need to take care of your 1gn then.

i dont see why many more people dont delete the stuff and relocate the battery, it makes working in the engine bay so much easier. i can change out my timing belt and put it back together in like 20min cause theres not much to take off. oh yeah i listed the 3.0 intake and other stuff i forgot i listed.
occasional demons wrote::withstupid:

oh she knows, hahahaha, at first when i went to look at it she fought with me to not get it and blah blah blah but i was like at least ill save alot of money by having it cause at the time i was spending too much money on my GTO to just own it. this neon i dont have a payment on since i got the title, it gets good gas mileage and i only have to fill it up like every 3 weeks unlike my gto which was every friday. So on the way home from getting it that night she was like "u know i kinda like it and at least you can fix it up how u want it".. i just laughed. but im always cleaning it and what not. she knows i like neons but doesnt understand why i do just like many people.

All these 1GN's showing up... makes me miss my old one. Very nice find but people who don't appreciate Neons would really be scratching their heads at your going from a Goat to a Skittle. Please clean up those headlights so that your car can see!

Thanks. And no I won't be burning it to the ground. No engine swap on this one means no mistakes like last time.

Hahaha shut up, there ain't no oil lines too tighten. Yet.

Yeah it wasn't as bad at first but then it got stupid worse like 2 months ago it got to the point where I had to put in half a quart every week which is alot to me so I finally decided a month ago to fix the problem and now it doesn't burn 1 drop. I still love driving it every time I get in it. It is a fun little car.

How did you "fix" the problem?

Also, I see no mention of "respray" or "drywall screws," so I think this log should be ok

The burning oil... new piston rings and stem seals?

I put new valve stem seals, yes . I Replaced them because it would smoke when i was at idle for about 5 min usually like in drive trough place . isn't that the same as burning..?. New cam seals to fix the leak I had there as well and new gasket on head, intake and exhaust which I believe there was maybe a minor leak on exhaust side. Engine feels more solid now.

I also discovered upon taking the head off that the piston walls looked honed so that led me to believe that someone had previously replaced the piston rings.

If you mean the presence of cross hatching, it could just be the factory cross hatching if the engine was well taken care of

Oh yeah that's more likely what it is. Idk I never took the engine apart to that point before. But the engine does only have 113k miles. It dis seem to been taken care off really well by previous owners.

small update: finally changed my lca bushings and added new ball joints. one side lca came off fine and went in fine but the drivers side horizontal bolt was siezed in there and i had to torch it for a while and hammer it till it came out. pain in the ass. took me all day to do that side. but in the process of using the torch i burnt a little hole in the inner cv boot and i tried to fix it with some glue stuff but didnt work.. anyways just now put on a new axle on that side.

no more 72mph steering wheel shake, car feels more firm and thats it for now. next on the list is new rotors and brakes on front and back.

Hey there 2gn gang who still visit the site.. haha. Decided to get a head start on little projects i got for the neon this year so heres a sneek peek at whats to come and not pictured but have on the way a set of depo chrome head lights for it too.

Well first off i had to get me a low profile jack because my car sits way too low for a normal jack. best investment yet and worth the $90 i paid for it at harbor freight.
Image

mopar 2gn side skirts
Image

painted to match, no clear coat on it in this pic
Image

hey it matches perfect and still no clear coat on it
Image

3 coats of clear here.
Image

and a winter shot.. i hate snow.

thats all for now.
