That sucks that they only lasted 10 months. Glad to hear you figured it out though. And thanks for the reminder because the instructions that came with my Moogs did not say anything about re-torquing. I will make sure to do that on mine once I have it back together.Neon4Life wrote: I was trying to solve a clunk problem I had. it was driving me nuts and I think I finally tracked it down to the lower control arm bushings going bad already after only 10months on there. see pics. now it was mostly my fault it went bad and the reason it was clunking sometimes is also my fault because I didn't read the instructions of re-torque the bolts after first 50 miles so they were loose and that's what caused the clunk noise by my feet.
Manny's 96turbo 1gn: now 99RT update 2\06\22
good job figuring it out, i'm glad none of my aftermarket control arm bushings did that.

Thomas, yeah wouldn't hurt to tighten it a bit after say 100miles.
Rtguy/02, I think it failed quick on me because 1st being loose but I'm also pretty much Slammed. Got 1/2 inch to get to full lock on my coilovers and I'm about to adjust them a little lower as I get it ready for alignment tomorrow so she tracks straight for the trip to Carlisle.

Recently found me a Mattdog gauge cluster which are becoming rare to find since the guy doesnt make them anymore. now he is not to be confused with maddog they are 2 different people. but anyways here is a before shot and after and then a before of the color scheme it came with and then i put some bright green led in it. also a sneak peek picture of whats to come for the car. the difference is now the RPM gauge is in the center and the speedo is off to the side.
oh and ill need this for a future project that will be done this coming winter.

not much going on lately.
installed a overhead shop light setup in my garage that uses (2) 2 foot light bulbs to light up the garage at night or just when ever like in the winter time when there isnt much light output from the sun. anyways this allows me to work on the car anytime instead of just during the daytime. might do some hose rerouting with paiting the intake manifold black and make the engine bay look much cleaner. doing that during christmas time as my work shuts down for like 2 weeks during that time. in the meantime heres a pic.

Gramps, yeah there will for sure be alot to see come May. Trust me.
Tom, it's a must have. I just don't know why I didn't do it sooner. I've had my house for almost 2 years and this is the first time I decided to buy a light for it. Wasn't at all that costly either.

Lights make a huge difference... I had a single 100 watt bulb in my garage and it was worthless. 2 years ago I painted the concrete block walls white to brighten it up then added 4 8' fluorescent light fixtures and put in electrical outlets around the garage. It's now small but fully functioning and I have a 60 gallon air compressor to run my tools.

Nice. That's the same type I got. And even tho this single ballast dual bulbs I got lights up the garage nicely I still plan to get 2 maybe 3 more in the future. Then I need a compressor like you got. And I'm set. My garage isn't huge hit not tiny either. When I have the neon in there it's like I have all the room in the world lol.sidepipe87 wrote:Lights make a huge difference... The cords tend to dry rot badly, leaving exposed wiring. They are made from the same stuff as the $2 ones that Wal mart sells. I ended up tossing the one that came with my '99 XJ, just so it wouldn't get plugged in and burn the car to the ground.
Being in the rear with all the exhaust heat (neon), I imagine the life span was pretty short. My 2.4 also has the block heater. There was no cord with it, or even a cut off one. Now if you can get a non oem one that plugs in, and is made with better wire insulation, that would be awesome.
I don't know that Mopar ever superseded these with something better or not. After seeing how the factory one held up, I am hesitant to spend for one, or two.
