I've been off the boards for a couple years and starting to get back into my car's again. I let the neon go far to long with out any modding or anything. since I've got my 93 gsx back up and running and mostly built for the time being. its time for the neon to come apart, and time to go thru and check everything out. I've have noticed that the neon didn't have the same power it used to have when it was still somewhat new, and it needed a timing belt done anyways ( way over due). be for removing anything, I did a compression test, and found cylinder #1 was at 130 psi, and the other 3 were all around 180psi. so I decided to remove the head and go further. and I found that I can literally move cylinder 1 piston back and forth with little effort at all, all the other cylinders I have to use a lot more effort. here is a short video that I took of the movement. ( I'm thinking possible rings, if worst case wrist pin in piston is bad if not along with rod)
since removing the head its off to the machine shop for a going thru and rebuild. i've been contemplating on going turbo one way or another for years now. was even thinking about swapping in a srt 4 engine. but I've made the decision to go turbo sohc. I have a lot of parts to buy still but I am just getting stuff slowly rolling waiting for tax season to come so I can buy the parts that are needed for it to get it done.
also planning on repainting the car all one color again, and re lowering the car again, and possibly finding an r/t transmission, she's got along road ahead of her.[/img]

Popped the pistons out thiS weekend an took them to the machine shop have them measure #1 is 3 thnds worn on skirt . going To order be pistons and have the block bored .20 over and go that route still getting money together to order parts

Its been a while since I updated. I decided to just rebuild with slight mods. Installed new top line pistons and rings, had head rebuilt and gone thru. Got a new valve cover an installed new water pump and timing belt. Installed my magnum intake with working actuator. Still have to wire it up but that's kind of where I left off today I'll post pics tomorrow
