I'm sure lots have them but probably not many modding them. Most are mtx swapping before starting heavy modification, usually the first words out of any mouths here are "mtx swap it." I doubt it would be worth your time

There are a few die hard ATX folks out there. Plus the ones that can't swap, due to Significant Others/spouses, or disabilities.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it isn't worth delving into, there just may not be a huge volume is all.

On the flip side, ATX's need all the help they can get. Would this be for both 31th, and 40/41te? Tho 31th would be much closer to the MTX setups.

How much more performance are you thinking you can get?

Are you talking about the 2000-2001 3-spd ATX ??
Or the 2002-up 4-spd. ATX ??

Excellent !!

For the ATX haters out there -
A modded ATX, will almost never be as quick as an MTX - 'all things being equal'.
HOWEVER - This does not mean, that the performance of an an ATX Neon, can't be improved !!

I once tried running a MoPar Performance PCM, on my old 1995 ATX SOHC Neon.
I will say that I was pleased with the results. :)

It was still not as quick as my MTX Neon, but throttle response was noticeably improved, and the engine was much more responsive.... In other words, the 'fun to drive' quotient was much better.

Just don't expect your ATX Neon, to become a flaming fast hot rod.
But a PCM on an ATX, will definitely help it 'perk up' quite a bit.

Just the mildly ported head on our '96 helps out once you get some RPM going. It certainly pulls better than the un ported head did. All else is stock, even the cam.

Altho it is a 10.3:1 C.R., it is all stock factory parts.

Reading > Me.

I just sent a PM. Haven't done a swap yet as I need a clutch and a few misc parts to install it but I'd LOVE a smooth ATX in my 03 in the mean time!

I'm a die hard atx man. Mainly because my left leg can't handle the back and forth motion of the clutch. Thanks to a combination of a reconstructed ACL and and old lady who decided to side swipe me over a 20' cliff, my left leg sucks.

I remember reading somewhere(don't remember) that mopar made a shift tune for some atx's. Can't remember where I read it tho.

Do you think you'll have this cal done for 00-01 31th by the time you start your group buy?

Any idea of the hp gains?

Either way I want one so bad

You must be referring to the 'Performance Automatic' valvebody for the 3-spd. ATX:
http://www.allpar.com/forums/topic/6918 ... alve-body/
I don't recall, if these were offered through the MoPar Performance Catalog, or not.

Unfortunately, I believe these have been discontinued.

However - It is actually fairly simple, to 'build' your own shift kit, thanks to the information posted on-line by those sick Turbododge fiends, and 'Mookie' and his D.I.Y.-shift kit link.

There is a stage 1 shift recalibrate, or something to that effect for the GT Cruisers with the 41te. I ran across it once searching for something else on the web.
